Nico Williams

It’s going to be hilarious when September rolls around and we’re entering a third consecutive season without a better left winger than Martinelli.

I mean he’s probably got a much higher ceiling than Martinelli but that’s another project player and no guarantee he actually hits that potential so that would be a really shitty move.

I understand your use of “hilarious” but :sob:

I don’t doubt the reports that we’re one of the clubs following that situation but I think those red flags about his character will prevent any move, especially at the fee Man Utd will want.

Don’t think the club will be that stupid

He’s a worse version of Martinelli but has a shitty attitude and ego.

An average talent, he’s’s not good enough for us

What does this transfer mean for Raphinha? Arguably Barca’s best player last season.

They were looking at versatile forwards anyway. They were heavily linked with Diaz and Rashford. They’ve even been offered Perisic(apparently Flick is a big fan of him still).

Didn’t they renew his contract recently?

Edit
Yes, they did.

Will be interesting how they manage them all if they really get Nico this summer.
Lewa, Nico, Yamal, Raphinha.

Who would have thought?

That’s ok, Barcelona need to sell to pay for Williams so we can help them by taking Raphina. :grinning:

He moved for much more money. We don’t want that to be the over-riding factor for any incoming players.

you what mate? wasn’t everyone saying he’d command 300k per week?

upper tax rate is 47%, so he will be on near enough 300k a week gross

Yeah in euros which is about £250k pw.

We could’ve easily done that. Seems the cunt was fixated on Barca but why do they need 3 good wingers ffs.

Take into account, he lowered his demands for Barca.

I’m hearing he dropped his demand for Barcelona.

I reckon we’re gonna see them rotate 3 wingers across the front 3 the same way PSG do it. So one of them is gonna end up at 9 like Dembele did for stretches of last season.

Surely one of:

Torres
Lopez
Gavi
Olmo

Must be thinking about their game time prospects if Barca do get Williams. They can’t all fit into the XI.

That’s why I’m thinking too hence the above. They must’ve given Nico enough assurances about his game time, even if he was desperate to go there.

Most likely Raphinha. He’s the most verstatile of all and does end up in central areas a lot already.

Meanwhile at Arsenal… Martinelli

Raph is built for that, the attack is potentially going to be even more electric. Lewandowski is a fading force

They still have issues in other areas though, defence can be problematic but they’re going for all out attack first and foremost which can lead to some real crappy seasons if it all goes to shit even with the front loaded attack

Flick will likely get chased out by the end because the way he pushes those guys just isn’t sustainable
