Yeah that’s true.
Wengers legacy was shat on the moment they appointed Emery.
But I am getting second thoughts about Jose.
I just want Emery gone man.

btw Marcelo Bielsa
I have no problem with waiting until the end of the season if it means the board will spend that time getting the best manager possible.
There is no excuse.
They had plenty of time when they replaced Wenger, because they must have known way before they announced he was leaving and the best they could come up with was either Emery or Arteta.
No more cheap, uninspiring options,.
Get the best and back them in the transfer market.
I’m fed up with every season being wiped off after just a few games and hearing how we are building a team to challenge for the top trophies.
Every season is thrown away because of lack of preparation and leadership, both on and off the pitch.
The board should have a shortlist, and the only names on it should be proven managers at the highest level, which would automatically rule out Arteta, Ljundberg, Henry, Vieira, or any other player that happened to wear an Arsenal shirt.
Or when we renewed his contract in 2014. :hipster::giroud3:
Jose’s last 4 seasons in English football:
1: sacked for having Chelsea in bottom half
2: finishes 6th with United
3: 2nd with United
4: sacked with United doing poorly
So 2 sackings and a 6 place finish doesn’t exactly scream “top 4”
I admit I may not be thinking straight currently.
Leeds won’t let him go with the bucket he sits on, hence it’s a no go.
It’s a good shout, though. He’s been at Leeds for 15 months now. That’s unfathomable! It’s Don Revie territory.
The reason he’s still there is because of what he’s done with the club. Even without promotion, they look revitalised in front of a full stadium every week
I don’t think they’d get Mou or even Allegri based on how they just do not play very Arsenal-esque football.
I would expect a younger and/or attacking-style manager would fit better, like ten Hag, Nagelsmann or Rose from Bundesliga (just lose guesses), not sure, I know Monaco absolutely plummeted recently but not sure if that is Jardim’s fault or the club’s, he definitely did well with young talents just a few years ago, I personally wouldn’t be angry if Luis Enrique decided to continue with football and see him here, not sure if Ljungberg is merited enough? that Lage guy who is doing well with Benfica? Or an oldie who turned up the pace like Gasperini? there the goals are leaking like they do here though
Hard to guess though, I just don’t want to enter the type of void that United are in where they just shoot left and right and throw money at it until it works because we won’t throw money at anything lol
Snitch
Shit choice
Why has no one suggest Diego simone he must be due a move an we might aswell get him inn while we can
Allegri & Simeone have the right to be more ambitious than Arsenal.
Just because we appointed a shit manager doesn’t mean it’s a shit job.
We all dreamed of the big names last time and ended up with this shithouse. I’m betting same thing again.
Allegri and Simeone have done impressive things, things enough that get them in the conversation for better gigs than this.
Nobody was available at the time because of the board’s awful timing.
Tuchel would have come if he was available imo.
I dunno. Maybe. I’m just uninspired as ---- with this current Arsenal situation.
If you take the leak that Edu has no contingency plan at face value than we have a few choices:
Blow it Up with Freddie:
Appoint Freddie until May with the understanding he may not make Top 4. Accept another year in the EL and convince Josh to blow it up and start over. Sell Aubameyang, Lacazette for as much as possible. Sell duds like Xhaka and Mustafi for whatever you can get. Pay Özil out to get him off the books. Promote kids, take our lumps, restructure financially and slowly rebuild a cheaper squad that can be supplemented with expensive signings.
Reinvest with Freddie:
Same as option 1 but instead of blowing it up, convince Josh to invest again. Pay whatever it takes in the summer of 2020 to keep our front line and make another run with a new manager.
Hire a Firefighter:
Appoint Rafa or someone similar (i.e.: the football is gross but effective). The interim hire is made on the understanding that Top 4 is the only goal. EL? Who cares. FA Cup? Fuck that noise, play the U-12s and my cat Maggie up front. Secure Top 4 by any means necessary and jettison the interim hire in June.
I wanted us to blow it up last summer but the club spent the 2020 UCL money this summer apparently. Unfortunately my preferred choice doesn’t look likely.
Issue is, only coaches out of jobs would be the available candidates.
Would be difficult to lure any employed coaches; ie Nagelsmann who I really want at Arsenal.
Mourinho - does not have a good history with youngsters and we have good bunch of youngsters at Arsenal rn. Arsenal’s DNA of playing beautiful football will be a myth. However, Mourinho is a winner and is proven so I don’t know.
Ugh wish Wenger left a year ago so we could get Tuchel or Pep year before that; sigh.
Brendan Rodgers anyone? He’s love to have one more crack at a big club…
