What do you guys (and gals) think of Ranieri? He’s a bit on the older side, but he does seem to have some proven qualities as a man manager. Even when he was dismissed from Leicester, he was massively overperforming in the Champions League IIRC. Now with Sampdoria, after reading a bit, he seems to have taken a club from the last place in Serie A in 2019, to top half of the table now.

He wouldn’t be my first choice but I honestly think he could do better than Arteta.

I reckon Mrs Ranieri would do a better job than Arteta…

This the man we should be after. Two years I never knew about him since someone mentioned him before Emery got sacked I’ve been following him and he’s exactly the kind of manager we should be taking a risk on, in my opinion, guy is a serial winner and they play attacking exciting football. He’s the complete opposite of Arteta.

Yeah this is the River Plate dood. I mean Barca doesn’t really have a good history of hiring managers so not sure how interested they actually are but he’s supposedly the next big thing.

Yeah forget about the going to Barca thing but clearly he’s taken River as far as he can so should be open to a move, and seeing as he is a disciple of Bielsa who believes in his methods and actually implements it, I think he could really be a good project manager for us. We have all the right players to play how he wants, it would be nice to see players actually playing balls through the channels and attacking aggressively instead of the garbage we’ve been seeing week in week out.

I’ve never been against a project manager just not someone who’s never managed a team in their life like Arteta. Everyone likes to bring up the SAF comparisons but SAF had won championship and huge trophies and had managed several teams before coming to united. This dood would have been a much better appointment than Arteta.

Not a bad shout but there are many names I’d have ahead tbh

I mean the point of a project is that there’s progress. There’s a plan, there’s a pathway, there’s improvement and it should be clear to see how we get there. You’re most definitely not meant to go backwards in a project otherwise it sucks.

Would have been better than Arteta (at that point). It’ll take a lot for Ranieri to lift us now.

Having said that, he did lift Chelsea and Leicester to heights they’d never seen in the PL. He’s likeable and the fanbase would be right behind him after a couple of wins.

Clearly, his name starts with R, practically at the end.

I don’t think we should be against managers that haven’t managed a game in their lives either.

E.g. Pep, Zidane.

They just have to show something. Which our manager isn’t showing.

I agree. I don’t dislike the appointment of Arteta in itself either. But now we’ve seen him for a year-and-a-half and clearly he’s not suited for the job. 13 losses in a season (that is just the League…) is not just growing pains. There is a lot more going on there.

Tbh, the football world doesn’t seem 100% sold on Zidane despite all his achievements. Never really talked as one of the greats like Guardiola is. Interesting to see him at another club sometime.
