Not happening.

Lol funny that comes across as us not wanting him or deeming him not good enough for us :joy:

Exactly. I thought that was common knowledge lol.

The club didn’t like Allegri and as a result he, in turn, doesn’t like us.

Probably not but I dont understand the logic of hiring Arteta who’d never managed a game in his life. This guy is gonna be 3 time champion of a European league and has a lot of other experience as well. I echo the sentiments of other posters in here saying that I dont think a top manager would want to touch us atm even if we pursued one. Think this profile of guy is who we should be looking at. Why were we looking at a manager from Japan when we hired Wenger? If you’re good you’re good.

Top managers have massive egos and a club as big as us would be attractive to any of them.
The problem is not if a manager would want to come here but if our board have the ambition to go and get one of them, which I doubt.

We replaced Wenger with someone underwhelming then, unbelievably, replaced him with someone even more underwhelming.

We need the best and most experienced manager there is just like every other top club has got and there are plenty that fit the bill like Rodgers, Allegri, Nagelsmann, etc, that would come here but, until our board start to show that they are ambitious, rather than cheap, we are either stuck with Arteta or they will just go for the bare minimum again.

Think there will be lots of top candidates who are possible for us.

Klopp joined Liverpool on a bad run after Rodgers got sacked. Ferguson after Atkinson at United having a bad time, Ancelotti at Everton etc etc

Raul didn’t know his arse from his elbow replacing managers - maybe it was based on the size of the behind the scenes fee he took from the agents.

Have to hope Edu will have a better sense. Post David Dein I think we lost the ability to spot a good manager or to replace a dud quickly if needed as we did with Rioch.

Arsenal don’t have a vision as a club for enticing a top manager right now.
Klopp brought about 20 people with him. We appointed Arteta who had to run around and poach a couple of coaches too help out.
We are currently lower than Liverpool were and floundering in obscurity.
Play all the the invincible videos and Henry highlights you like but we are not seen in that light now.
We need more than a top manager.

I can understand that we would not be attractive in our current state to some managers, however we are still one of the wealthiest and most followed clubs around the world with a good core of players, an experienced manager shouldn’t have to much trouble getting us back around the top 4 spots, and that in itself is attractive enough to a lot of other managers.

Like others have said it comes down to the board ultimately, and in football as in most things in life it comes down to the money. If the board want the absolute best, they will got and put the best possible offer on the table. Everyone has a price and it’s not like we’re some unknown footballing club. Our issue is our board are clueless and we don’t really have any proper footballing people on the board. So I’m not really hopeful.

Seoane knocked off the 5th placed team in the Bundesliga, and got Young Boys to the round of 16 for the first time ever in their history today 6 - 3 agg score too
with farmers lmaooo :joy::joy: He’ll be managing in the Bundesliga soon (being linked with Gladbach and the Celtics fans seem to want him too), we are too stupid and clueless of a club to preempt his move and grab a genius like this. We’ll be after another retread when this dood is being mentioned for the Bayern job in 3 or 4 seasons. God forbid we’d hire a progressive manager who is tactically sound, and fun to watch :joy::joy::clap::clap:

Using the words “attractive” and “young boys” in the same sentence is risky business indeed.

Allegri likely to be off the table for next season

Good. Stay clear of this absolute dinosaur. Italian football and Italian coaches are a joke.

Hopefully he doesn’t go to Real Madrid and Zidane stays there at least until we’ve permanently signed Ødegaard

This absolute dinosaur literally had Juventus punching above their weight in Europe and lost the CL final the very peak is MSN and the all conquering Zidane Madrid side that won 3 CL trophies.

And he also beat both of the above teams in seasons he made the final so I’m not having any disrespect towards Allegri.

This dinosaur is one of the top 3-5 coaches in the world. United have lost their minds sitting on Ole when Allegri is available.

Him mot going too United is the only upside for us.
Serious alternatives for us if Arteta doesn’t workout are becoming few and far between in the current climate of world football.

It’s insane that in the time we’ve had Arteta;

Poch, Allegri and Tuchel have all been on the market.

I haven’t always been a big Tuchel fan and think results do most of the talking and his haven’t always impressed me. I’ve never felt like he’s got teams punching above their weight.

However, the defensive solidity that he’s brought to Chelsea whilst still winning games has infinitely improved my opinion on him. I’m starting to see why @Aussiegooner has been an advocate of him for so long.
