I definitely don’t agree. We only need to improve a tiny amount, string 3 or 4 wins in a row together to get into 5th or 6th. If he can’t do that…
If either United or us get a good run of form, then 4th is potentially up for grabs for the taker.
There are still 21 games left so we need more than a short run of results. We will need to be consistent.
A short run will get us there and consistency (with the rest) will keep us there.
I know what you mean but let’s not forget that United, Spurs until recently and even Chelsea as of late are hardly setting the world alight.
A perhaps laughable and huge ask too but if we can beat one of these teams in a head to head, the while outlook brings a new dimension again.
We are in a situation hoping an assistant manager can save the season who has had no first team management experience because the board have fucked up.
I think we need to appoint a holding manager till the end of the season so the club can have time to really look around and see who’s interested in being our manager.

ARTETA UPDATE
Arsenal are still hopeful that Mikel Arteta will be their new manager in time for their visit to Everton on Saturday.
Man City’s assistant coach is yet to tell his present employers whether he wishes to take up the role as Arsenal’s new head coach, with Arteta expected to make up his mind once tonight’s Carabao Cup match away to Oxford has concluded.
City, and in particular Pep Guardiola, are keen for Arteta to stay at the Etihad, but realise that the offer from North London to take charge of his former club, may prove too enticing to turn down.
And if Arteta is to be in the dugout at Goodison on Saturday lunchtime, it’s likely that a decision on his future could come as early as tomorrow.

Still hoping this doesn’t happen and we announce Poch (Eric Bischoff joining WWE as Raw General manager style @Electrifying)
Why is he fucking about with this game if he’s coming.
Hopefully it means he’s not sure and stays.
Be interesting if he turns us down. But it’d be catastrophic if he turns us down and we turn to Vieira - which is what I can see happening.
Trying not to get sucked into reacting with a jerky knee to some of these reports.
But if we can’t even convince an assistant manager with no managerial experiwnce to come and manage us then I want everyone on the executive committee, or whatever we are calling this shower of cunts, to be fired. Out of a fucking cannon.
Because these reports could be shit, I’ll keep calm. But this doesn’t feel like a good look for us lol
Don’t get why he wouldn’t just give his decision now. Why does he need to be involved with this random League Cup game?
Perhaps he wants to say goodbye to the squad? Or doesn’t want to piss anybody off by leaving so close to a match? Doesn’t really make any sense to me though as it’s a minor fixture and City are fully aware now that he’s seriously considering leaving.
Yeh I’m feeling a bit suspicious that it’s taking this long to announce. I understand that there might be arrangements, deals and other such stuff to discuss but my paranoia is tingling here.
After last time, when we were at this stage and it looked like Arteta was sure to succeed Wenger, and we ended up with Unai fucking Emery, I find myself checking this forum every chance I get to see if there is official word, because that’s the only thing that will convince me that some nightmare scenario that ends up with Vieira or some terrible shit I haven’t even contemplated or could never even conceive like Michel (Emery) will not transpire.
Ay mi Arsenal (), the traumas you put us through
I don’t think the late night meetings at Arteta’s house at short notice would’ve happened if he wasn’t dead serious about taking on the job.
He probably just knows he’s in the stronger position around the bargaining table and wants some cast iron assurances about squad development, procedures he wants to bring across from Man City.
Meanwhile Vinai + co are far more desperate, having been turned down by at least 2 targets and possibly a 3rd in MoPo
