Mikel Arteta (Soon to be Mr. Manager)

“because we were smart to pick him up and now other clubs want him”

Bitch please, he started out as a coach with us, taking sessions and stuff and we tried to keep him around.

Make it stop!

Please let there be traffic between Manchester and London. Like eternal “I have to turn back” traffic.

Even though it looks to be a done deal, thought I would linked this anyway.

Headline seems a bit harsh

Who cares what wenger says these days?

Shit, is that a joke? Does Arteta really not have any managerial experience?

Weren’t you the one saying you didn’t care what others said because Wenger thinks he would be a good manager?

The same people who were justifying Arteta’s appointment because Wenger and Pep “said” he would make a good coach.

They probably thought it would never happen when they said it :joy:

If it is concluded with “as the top boss at a club” then it is simply factual.

Obv he has relevant and useful experience and Wenger wouldn’t completely discount that, but his statement is virtually impossible to argue with on its face.

Key phrase here:

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Mikel Arteta will need a good team around him to deal with his lack of managerial experience.

He said the same thing in 2018.

Oh well , if it’s Arteta then is Arteta .
I’m not exactly jumping for joy but this
is The Arsenal and we must get behind Arteta.
So welcome Mikel , please , get these fuckers winning again !

I believe Arteta will only be signing a deal if there are long-term plans in place for him to be allowed to bring in certain profile of players.

No such thing really is the. Being low profile lessens that argument.

If this is true the only encouraging possibility is the board has agreed to support Arteta in the transfer market. Slim chance given he’s the cheap option.

But then that begs the question that if that was the case why didn’t they give the same promise’s to managers on the shortlist we had before they appointed Emery e.g. Enrique or Allegri

Like why agree to this with Arteta who has never managed anyone before but not Enrique ?

Because Gazidis.

Arteta will be the first managerial appointment under Raul, Vinai and the other one who noone knows.

Here, by the way. Has anybody mentioned it before, but I think i’ve noticed that Mikel Arteta has never been the head coach/manager himself of any professional/senior football club before.

This will be his first head coach job.

Just thought i’d add that little factoid.

@Midfield_Maestro I am kind of glad because we are back to Plan A on how to move the club forward, which was our original thinking back in 2018 before a last minute change of heart and we have kind of been meandering and fucking about ever since.

This is the actual vision the club had, not some Europa League jim’ll fix it and get us back to CL shite.

Now we can actually rebuild properly I hope. My only reservation is that this was Gazidis plan… but then again Gazidis didn’t have the balls to follow through on that. And maybe he got this one right lol who knows. Wenger definitely rated him as well tbf.
