Giroud.
That assist record would be out of reach if not for le donk.
Ahh so that’s why he’s retired - Turkish elections coming up lol
wish him all the best… and move on.
Can fuck off after trying to undermine the Arsenal coach at the time and influence young players like Saka .
Guess he’s settling in Turkey then, with his dear friend Erdogan. I hope Sweden revokes his wife’s citizenship.
:).

Legend
Helped us end our drought, his 2013-14 and 2015-16 seasons were great.
If only we won that league title in 15-16 maybe things would be even better. The end of his career wasn’t great but oh well.
On form Ozil had no competition. One of the most technically gifted players to grace the carpet. It was a shame about his off-field antics, but as a footballer his skill was undeniable. Brought us some great moments and helped us win two trophies.
I’ll always regret what it would have been like to add a third world class player to Sanchez and Ozil to complete the trio that most other big teams had at the time. Still though those two produced great moments.
that’s funny hearing that he retired, he already did whilst playing for us
Majestic creating chance after chance that season, shame we didn’t have enough else around to win the league.
Özil was, without doubt, one of the footballers in the world.
I mean, so is Sanogo.
Can I really say, whilst is a formal word, and while is a casual one, besides American English and British English?
He was saucing in 17/18.
I think the Germany fallout killed his career. His on pitch motivation disappeared soon after.
Seems Saka himself appreciates ozil

Yeah Bukayo and Mesut seem to have a lot of love for each other.
There is no question that Ozil was a luxury player. He was a magician with the ball, provided the rest of the team covered for him. He needed a manager that understood his qualities, had faith in him and played to his strengths. Post Arsene, that wasn’t the case. Neither Unai nor Mikel valued him as much and that reflected in his performances on the pitch.
Unfortunately that coincided with his big contract, and the narrative is that he downed tools after getting what he wanted but I think it was just the case of the manager not considering him an asset anymore and he needed that faith to keep performing.
In the end, I think he’ll be remembered for some good years at Arsenal but many of us will also remember him for some poor ones.
It 100% did. He felt betrayed by his country and embarked on a journey to reconnect with his Turkish and muslim roots. This unfortunately involved getting into bed with a leader that is widely despised by many.
What he highlighted about persecution of muslims in China should not have been held against him either, but that was when Arsenal dropped him. No coincidence as the order clearly came from above.
All of this affected his on field game and pretty much downed tools to this day. Still one of my faves though.
That’s not really true, he made his comments in December 2019 and got dropped in March 2020. The two things were months apart.
