I think the real miss was Marotta after leaving Juventus over the Ronaldo dispute. He was unemployed for a couple of months and he worked with both Conte and Allegri.

He returned to Leipzig July 2018 so he could have been available during that time frame.

I said he the time his methods don’t translate well outside of Italy. I don’t think it would have worked even if he would have been willing to come to England
but is said to have withdrawn his candidacy when the club renewed the contract of Mesut Ozil without consulting him first
We renewed him in January, I don’t think any decisions had been made with Wenger then so this just sounds like complete and utter made up bollocks.
