There are clearly financial considerations, as well as behavioral ones with Rashford, but I think there is definitely a tactical dimension to those players being on the outs under Amorim.
He plays five across the front line like everybody else in possession and the wingbacks are the wide players. The “wingers” sit inside and the players he has preferred for those roles are guys like Trincao and Pote who are technical, creative types who are comfortable receiving the ball between the lines and in tighter spaces rather than pacy wide players that are looking to run behind or drift to the touchline and operate in more space. Amad can play that role and Mount too if he ever gets healthy (its pretty much exactly the role he thrived in under Tuchel at Chelsea). Garnacho and Rashford just don’t.
Amorim hasn’t gotten the chance to bring in players yet but this seems to be the vision at United as well. Dorgu is a left footed LWB that occupies the wide channel on that side and that’s his priority signing it appears.

Maybe a loan with an option for that kind of money would sound reasonable, but no way I would give that kind of money straight away on a guy with his senior experience.
If he really does well on his loan he could justify such a fee. Atm I’d be quite surprised if someone (from Europe pays that much for him).
