Martin Ødegaard (c) (8)

He looks more masculine now. Hopefully it will add some power to his Mesut Øzil foot

Given how Odegaard, Martinelli and Merino are playing in these INT’ quals…

Boy.. if they turn up and play like crap again in the next EPL match; I’m done blaming them lol.

Well, not entirely - but it’d be hard to argue for the decline not being due to Mikel’s tactics making them overthink shite.

Well you can’t blame the tactics for Odegaard because they were built around him originally and he thrived under them before.

Martinelli isn’t helped by the laboured play we seem to love (so yes blame tactics but he is also a bit shit) and Merino just played well for us before the internationals.

Totally agree on all three.

Martinelli’s best goals were during fast, direct counter attacks. Last seen in Madrid earlier this year.

I really wish we’d play like that more often instead of this slow “high press” shit. All of our forwards would benefit from it. Wenger’s most successful teams were in our devastating counter-attacks era at Highbury. Ball won by Vieira, forward to Bergkamp who spins and passes forward to Henry, goal. Football at its very best.

Sometimes less is more.

I do agree, I find counter attacking football the most exciting style, when a player goes clean through on goal there’s nothing better, however, a lot of teams sit back against us which in turn forces us to be high in the press. At points we have 10 players around the opposition box which is ridiculous when you are watching it.
I cant see that disappearing anytime soon, but what we need to be doing is speeding things up, quicker passing, quicker forward balls, quick direct foward runs, with the new guys this will happen but I think its just a case of them settling it and everyone finding their feet.

Yes, it’s a problem. Sitting back ourselves and encouraging the opposition to come forward could lead to some very dull matches.

I’m glad it’s not my job to invent new tactics.

Big game bottler. Flat track bully. Knew he’d play shit at Anfield. Some quality moments for Norway but how does that help us? I wouldn’t start him at the weekend but no doubt he’ll start.

Our best performance this year was the game he came off early in.

Odegaard is a good footballer but he’s starting because he was good two seasons ago.

I won’t be joining Arsenal fans in synchronised wanking over an Odegaard performance vs minnows.

I’ve actually been very positive about Merino. Life is about balance!

That’s a beast of a cold sore that Haaland has.

It’s a boring routine with him. He’ll be great against Forest and then shit his pants at St James’.

Much more excited by Madueke looking lovely for England and for us.

Can’t remember the last Arsenal game he played where I thought he was great

want to see odegaard pass to gyokeres more, need adapt quickly, let odegaard roaming to central area because if odegaard working too much on right hand side then his brain only want pass to saka saka saka and saka

This. It’s all well and good battering pub teams and electricians from Eastern Europe, but if he’s continuously trash in the league, then what’s the point?

I don’t remember the last time he successfully did one of those creative passes/assists in an Arsenal shirt.
