Martin Ødegaard (c) (8)

He did one to Saka against united.

I was watching a compilation of him the other day and thought exactly the same, what I wouldn’t give for someone with those pin point perfect passes into the box!

There is no way he cannot make through ball against team below top 10 in premier league

Any news on the severity of his injury?

Looked like another impact injury on his shoulder!

Hate to say it, but could be a blessing to have him take a break for a while.

We have players who can come in and refresh the side, offer different qualities and try new things. He’s become a bit stale, a bit ‘samey’.

No harm in putting Eze in there, we have Ethan and Merino who can slot in there too.

Any updates on when he will be back? We really need him.

IMO, against tougher opponents Arteta just isn’t going to play anybody in midfield that he doesn’t think is up to the off-the-ball responsibilities, either due to lack of time in the system or lack of workrate.

I think it might be different if we had Havertz up front because he’s such a demon off the ball. But Gyok doesn’t give us the same level of workrate and is himself still learning how we play. Arteta won’t want to play a combination of guys like Gyok/Eze or Gyok/Nwaneri in the middle as they will get bypassed too easily.

That was a protein dense cameo from Odegaard.

back on the red meat diet, perhaps?

I still think Eze deserves to retain his place.

What a pass for MLS prior to the winner

Same. Watched his 3-minute highlight reel. He was great today and deserves to keep starting.

Ode should be backup to Eze. Sorry Martin but Eze is just better.

Much more like it. Made an impact.

Martin Odegaard fanfare

My mans back :sparkles:

They should both play in the home games at least.

I’m hoping that the introduction of Eze in his position brings the absolute best out of him. And agree with @Starboy I’d be happy to see Rice and Merino dropped for the easier hoem fixtures and us play both Eze and Odegaard

Yep. Play both Vs the hard to break down teams

Eze positioned in the #10 space while Odegaard was a bit a deeper, enabling him to orchestrate from midfield
