Martin, you are not having a good season.
Always regarded him as a secondary playmaker; we always needed another playmaker, ideally primary playmaker.
That aside, Odegaard has been truly awful this season. Glamorous to watch but ineffective to produce game changing moments.

That’s one of the reasons I said it’s a big fail not to strengthten the midfield in that direction after Partey lost his position as a standard first choice.
Looking at how limited our attack is just makes things 10x worse. Arteta focused a bit too much on the defensive stability, physicality etc.
I have to say this but what has he brought to us this season. Granted he had an injury but to me just looks busy running like a headless chicken with no one to pass to.

Still created 4/5 chances today while everyone is talking shit on him.
I think he’s never fully recovered from the injury or at least it doesn’t look like it. Players also have bad spells, seems like this is his.
Maybe where the whole team are having a bad spell, the onus as captain and with his ability we expect possibly too much?

I initially went ‘oh fucking hell’ when watching it live, just like the fans in the ground. But when you watch that clip, it’s clear he did the right thing.

No runs were being made, and the ball to Martinelli would have just led to a turnover. Smart choices were made in this sequences

Very good technical footballer. Not a captain or leader. He’s getting away with not scoring his pen and everybody is focusing on Havertz.
He still created a shit load of openings though. The system is the problem. Ode and Rice have both been off form.
The LW, who is that, Trossard, looks pretty open there, but Ode doesn’t have the confidence to play that pass.
Liverpool are always making those balls and are using that space. Wish we would become more direct.

Bar the penalty miss I actually thought he was btw.
Significantly better than the last couple of games. Just the celebration after during the penalty kicks that really rubbed me the wrong way.
