His form’s fallen off a cliff. So, so poor.
Never seen so many poor touches from him as the last month.
Bad time to show your worst form captain.
Given us 2 goal contributions in his last 10 games and both were in the Palace game in the League Cup.
You can ignore that stat when you’re clearly doing other things well but he’s been pretty useless at almost everything for a while now.
That Vegan diet is killing my boy. No wonder he caught the flu, immune system also getting weak.
Been useless all season. The apologists will be here soon though.
Forgettable season thus far
Standards are high and he is falling short
Not been the difference maker that he can be by half
He’s had glimpses but he hasn’t looked his true self this season.
Last season must’ve took a toll on him, Rice, White and Havertz. Could argue the same for Saka.
We’re lucky the role of our CBs isn’t as taxing or Saliba and Gabriel would be in that group too.
Sheer amount of dog work he got through was kind of nuts tbh
It was like he was running off of nuclear energy
Sorry but I’m getting sick of hearing about how all of our players are suffering from all the running they’ve had to be doing lol.
They’re in their fucking early to mid 20s who’ve had careers largely free of serious injuries.
Just sounds like excuses to me. It’s getting tiresome having to constantly read about how our players are exhausted.
Well, they look like it, no? You’ve also picked up on Rice looking tired.
I still dont think Ode or Rice are fully fit
All these guys will have niggles and have been playing a crap ton of minutes
That’s the game to a degree especially when they are made to play as much as they are
Both Rice and Ode were rushed back from injury because we lack depth, doing a job but neither have looked themselves since
I can’t disagree with being rushed back. one of the reasons why its so hard to challenge for the title against the likes of City for three seasons in a row
The cumulative fatigue and wear and tear can set in, the amount of minutes and effort it takes is monumental and Rice in particular barely gets time off in the off season.
We’ve seen that with Saka as well
But whenever someone suggests that Saka has been playing a ton of minutes and is overplayed and will be cooked by 25; they get shouted at because ‘other players at other clubs’ are playing lots of minutes too.
Can’t win either way.
Are they the only players in world football that are required to press and play 50-60 games a season?
My guess is that they all played through issues last season and it’s affecting them now.
I just don’t understand how Rice looks like he needs an oxygen tank 50-60 minutes into a game now when he used to cover ground for fun without breaking a sweat early last season and even previously at West Ham.
Perhaps I’m missing something, I dunno.
Being considered one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe he should be pretty ashamed of his season.
