Last season bro
icic…
thanks for clarifying
Actually, it is photoshopped. Cedric was in the way so @afcxman on Twitter got rid of him.
So the usual then
I’m just surprised Edu has managed to do this deal considering he was at a bbq on Saturday.
The vison…The technique…
So many wasted chances too lol
Watching that you wonder how much better Odegaard would be rated right now if all those big chances were taken and he had a load of assists to his name
If our strikers converted 20-30% more of the chances that Ozil created, he could have broken all assists record and we could sell him for a really good price.
If our players converted the filthy amount of clear cut chances cesc created every season… he’d still be my favourite midfielder.
People miss chances. You have to create loads for it to add up usually.
He does move like an arsenal player of old. Hope the lad does well man.
Yep that is why a lot of situations (including pens) don’t have an xG = 1.
Have to say, I really love this signing. The best thing that Mikel has done, in fact, the only decent thing he has done.
I reckon Odegaard will become a real player, and he could be one of the best midfielders in the Prem, I am SO glad we got this one sorted…
Some good news at least…
The key for me is whether Odegaard can lift a team and make the difference against the run of play, i.e. character. I think he is at least better than Aouar on that aspect, and showed good stuff against Leicester and Spuds last season, but we’ll have to see him doing more in a run of games uninterrupted by injury. There have been some questions about Maddison possibly going missing in bigger matches, but I did like Buendia because his energy and drive is Alexis Sanchez like, so it will be interesting to see relative performances of Odegaard and Buendia in the PL this season.
I also have a concern that, if he will struggle against pacey and physical teams for all season long.
What we have seen from the Brentford game was, we have a huge problem against that kind of a team.
I thought Balogun was physical and strong, but he was just weak.
Overall our players are weak in one on one confrontation.
Ode is a finesse player, and I really worry if he will stay healthy for most of the time.
Teams know how to deal with Arsenal, and they will be physical to us every single time.
Hoping this lad adds some steel to his game, could be special once he settles down and starts to get his game play over to the rest of the team. Just hope Arteta doesn’t destroy him.
I do think that this was true at the end of Arsenes reign, because teams knew that if they gave us space and time, we would destroy them by playing brilliant football, so other teams were very physical against us…Now however, most teams know that if they just turn up, and play half decent football, we will lose anyway…
Nah. That’s something a pundit would say who hasn’t watched us play recently. Just like pundits would say (incorrectly) that we’re known for playing good football.
We actually have players who are physically robust. Gabriel, Partey, Tierney, Lacazette (even if he looks really tired all the time), even ESR is able to ride challenges.
In an emo wiener low block formation I’d even say Holding is pretty physical.
And we all know Mr. Housekeys is physical even if he’s a dumbass.
He does indeed.
I hope the trio of Odegaard, Saka & ESR form a great partnership. That for me looks like a perfect 3 in 4231 formation
I do not know where the goals are coming from, if we have Ode, Saka and ESR as 3 midfielders plus Laca/Auba or Balogun/Martinelli as lone striker.
Not that we are already playing some boring football, and may score the least if that is the case.
