Martin Ødegaard (c) (8)

It will take time for all 3 of them to mature but I eventually expect 20-30 goals between the three of them.

I know it’s hard to get excited about a player we already had last season, but the fact is we didn’t have him and needed someone so I’m happy it’s him.

He’s a solid addition for now and the future. You need options in attack and hopefully he is the depth needed to bin Willian from the squad.

Fixed that for you

I disagree there. I was never particularly excited by him when he was on loan because I never seriously entertained the idea we could sign him permanantly and last season there was not much to hope we could accomplish with him. I am surprised we’ve managed to bring him in permanently and I’m more excited for his arrival this time than I was when he came in on loan.

Signing him in January was a coup in all honesty.

Nobody believed we had any hope that we would permanently sign him later in the summer, as he looked like a player that was out of our reach.

I know some people are on the fence about him but this is seriously such a good signing. Super happy with everything about this!

This is true. I was of ‘another January loan’ mood.

Absolutely delighted with this.

Elite talent, fully ours now.

Rocking that 8 as well.

Loving the Friesland connection. Here’s hoping he Ø can have a massive impact too. Defo a good signing with huge potential.

I’m surprised we announced this so fast.

Welcøme back Martin. CØYG

I expected them to announce Ramsdale first, and announce Ødegaard later to ‘make up’ for it.

My only regret is that we couldn’t have tied this up before the season started. But that behaviour is embedded in the nature of our summer transfers if you look at history so we shouldn’t have been overly surprised and thus disappointed that it panned out that way.

None the less I’m very happy we got this over the line. It was beginning to get pretty anxy that we were coming into a new season with ESR as the only outright CAM option (even though the sounds from the ITKs were that we would eventually settle for someone).

The best thing we have done this summer.

He’s not available to play on Sunday. I’m assuming it’s because of fucking Brexit meaning he needs to sort his visa.

This was the hope that Wenger brought. He always had so many young scrubs around that you could dream about “if x y and z young player develop then we might have a decent team soon” and I think ESR, Saka and Odey are in that camp now, and we have some other young players that are at least interesting.

Hope that he’s got #8 means we are playing a 4-3-3

Partey Sambi Ødegaard

Odegaard came and we transformed into a team that had one of the best records in the second half of the season. This guy tweeting can cry more.

We are getting a really good price in an inflated market, for a 23 yr old attacking mid who looks to have serious potential, and has a vast amount of top flight experience.

He’s a vocal player too which we got some insight into last season with no fans. For someone that young to come in, on loan, and start demanding from experienced players speaks absolute volumes for me. I really like this guy.

Maddison would have cost 30-40 mil more. Absolute no brainer and good business for a fucking change.

Nah sorry mate, he’s clearly timid and weak willed because he won’t fight for his position in Madrid’s starting XI.

Obviously has nothing to do with being loaned out 4/6 seasons, being told he’s 5th choice CM by Ancelotti and wanting to progress his career.
