I rate Odegaard and think he has huge potential and can play alongside ESR as @Leper mentioned earlier in this thread. Fits the young player profile we are bringing in and won’t take long to fit back into the team.
However, two things I want out of this though:
- Permanent transfer
- No buy back clause for Real Madrid

The buy back clause needs fucking off out the game.
Good signing from squad building perspective as it adds to our collection of talent that is 23 and under, which is about the only thing that’s going right for the club ATM.

Now if both Romano and Bell are right we are really in business. Martin as the 10 and Maddison as our Ramsey replacement as an 8. If that happened I’d be very happy.

Be stunned if a new RB happens, we have 4 average to poor ones on the books, we’d need to find moves for a couple.
We actually only have two. Bellerin, who wants out and Cedric who’s clearly a backup option.
Chambers and AMN aren’t right backs they’ve just been used their so I’d say we have 4 players who can play there but only two actual RBs.
I’d much rather see Chambers at CB than Holding so I’d rather he was used there when he is playing.

Not that it will happen but would be the other way around you’d want Maddison closer to the goal than Odegaard but I personally think they’d be complete enough to play as a double pivot infront of a lone anchor.

Agree. Odegaard is most effective centrally in the final third in terms of creativity. You want him on the ball controlling thing in those areas ahead of the opposition box
I think Madders is better equipped to transition the ball from midfield and make entries into the box from deep
FWIW I think Ode will score 5+ league goals too

Why would we play Partey and Maddison together in midfield? That’d be an awful combination. Maddison is better closer to the goal his strengths don’t lie in controlling a midfield battle
