Both Mainoo & Kovacic have similar pace to their game.
Maybe in the matches I have seen, he was in mood. He sure has the capability to do so.
Guess we’ll agree to disagree as most times I’ve watched him I’ve been impressed. At United the lack of control they have on games as per their awful system gives their midfield that saviour complex. They’re under excessive pressure to play dangerous release passes and they get caught a lot. He looked at home for England in the Euro’s I felt.
His ball carrying is good and looks like a young Wilshere.
Other than ball carrying he doesn’t have anything that catch my eyes; consider his ball carrying is not “outstanding”, just reasonably good.

I know this might be tinfoil hat territory, but I’m wondering if they’ve made informal approaches to Poch’s people. The US Federation hasn’t announced him yet.
Mainoo is a weird one tbh. He doesn’t really seem to excel at anything that would allow him to carve out a position in a typical midfield.
He’s pretty safe with his passing and he isn’t a more typical ball-winning DM either. He projects more as an 8 but the passing limitations make that a bit of a questionable move.
Right now, he’s a guy that does pretty well at most things and is composed relative to his age but as a long-term prospect he doesn’t really seem to be a guy to rave about.

Tuchel would be a great hire but I reckon INEOS will chase the romantic hire and go for RvN.
