Manchester City*

There definitely won’t be. Admitting you’ve doped yourself into relevance is a bitter pill to swallow. They will deny, deflect, decry until they have worn out their plastic voices.

Pretty much every “normally” owned / run club should be against City. It’s one less team to compete against. Shoot them down ffs

I checked out their subreddit because I was curious.

It was a mixture of copium memes being like “they fucked with the wrong club!” or bigging up their legal team and rationalizing posts like “we’re the victim! It’s actually Arsenal or United who are making things up about City because they’re jealous/sad”

the jealousy argument isn’t even relevant to United.

Yes, City won a CL which we haven’t, but talk about number of PL titles, CL titles, United has nothing to be jealous of.

When the UK government implies that these charges may worsen relations between UK-UAE; what is meant by that?

Do they mean conflict between the nations? or something else? Worse trade deals?

Who has said that?

TheAthletic from last year, there was this article, found it through here on Reddit, so perhaps it’ll answer my question.

Think it’s largely going to be the same reasons the UK government intervened to give the Saudi deal the all clear with Newcastle.

UK government want good relations with governments they can strike favourable trade deals with. It’s sad and corrupt that the government would get involved in matters relating to football

Maybe Liverpool don’t have anything on them?

This is on point.

I thought the “Red Cartel” that was trending was some show, lol.
WE(!) are part of the cartel?

I guess if football started 5 years ago, maybe you can say that.

Damn I hope they just erase City as a club now.

Had nothing against them before and their spending… But this is too much.

The timing of this case by city smacks of desperation. To my uneducated mind their argument boils down to ‘the premier league stopped us from making more money’. And I will add ‘so that’s the reason we may have infringed on any rules (if it’s proven so).’

Fair enough that city voted against whatever APT regulation at the time, but every club had to abide by them too!

I would feel sorry for the players, some of the staff that have been sucked in to a soulless, tyrannical, seedy, disrespectful situation, but I hope more and more that the league’s case against city is proven true.

I want to tell my boss that they are stopping me to earn more money.

Better yet, tell your boss you’re going to sue the pants off him if he doesn’t let you use his business to launder money and buy political influence.

Tell him you’ll tell the board of directors to come have a chat with him if he doesn’t fix up.

can’t afford City’s attorney.

Already ordered my Red Cartel shirt.

It’s red, and it says cartel.

Nah fuck them. You lay down with sports washers, you wake up with fleas or whatever it is they say.

Now the guy who scrubs the toilets, I feel for them but nobody on the playing side should get any sympathy.
