Manchester City*

Jarrad Branthwaite please…

Not sure how close it was to happening but I remember a good deal of Arsenal fans wanting Usmanov to buy the club outright.

What a disaster that would have been.

Dark times when fans got desperate.

In their defense they had no way of knowing Russia would start a war with Ukraine leading to serious sanctions. At the time some folks probably just wanted our own shady soft power puppet to compete with the other shady soft power puppets at Chelsea and City.

Actually, Usmanov was controversial going way back to around 2008. This was when it appeared we couldn’t compete financially. All the old posters here can account for this. I remember a big thread about it on Old OA. A fellow by the name of TA#6 absolutely despised him.

Fuck it.
Whoever investigated Everton’s check book, spend more time on City’s please.
Relegating Everton is not helping anything at all.

It’s kind of funny though

Lol, Sam Lee delivering bad news for City.

  • Ederson wants to go, Ortega also wants to go but he’ll probably stay if Ederson leaves.
  • Pep wanted to go last year after the treble but he decided to stay and honour his deal. The expectation is that he’ll go along with Txiki next summer.
  • Grealish has been a problem behind the scenes after the treble but it’s hard to move him on. Villa want him but Emery doesn’t.

it is what eventually happens when you are not a true team playing for the love of a club and are just overpaid mercs. After you have won a few and your pockets are fat there is nothing left to play for because they dont care less about where they are.

I think Ederson leaving is a legitimate blow. Its easy to knock his shot stopping but it will be really hard to replace his ball playing ability and in any case it’ll be a substantial spanner in the works of their well oiled machine. Him, Gundogan, KDB, Bernardo, Walker, and Stones have been the constants in that team over the years and if he and Bernardo both go this summer its a big deal IMO.

Annoying that Pep didn’t just leave last summer though. The best possible transfer news this summer would be waking up one day to a big surprise press conference with Pep announcing that he is burnt out and doesn’t have another year in him, with City unveiling Roberto De Zerbi or somebody similar as their new manager.

For any other club that deal would be crippling but they can just keep on paying him. Such horseshit.

I quite liked is JG when he was at Villa. It’s quite amazing how much of a cunt he turned out to be, simply by switching club.

This Jack Grealish being a cunt narrative seems well off. Seems one of the good guys of football. Always gives his time to fans, brilliant with ball boys and ball girls and seems a down to earth fella. He does like a drink and the women, but he seems one of the most genuine guys that there are.

If you are Grealish, going back to Villa is romantic, but you should probably knock on the door or a Bayern, Barca or PSG and see if there is any room at the inn.

Rate him highly. He’s a player that we just do not need sadly otherwise 70m would be a smart move.

He is great with kids and seems to always make time for them when others don’t, particularly disabled kids. You see clips of this all the time. I think it was when they won the CL, there was a blind girl there towards the end of the line of blokes whose hands they have to shake before being gicen their medals, and everyone just moved past her, ignoring her. Grealish stopped to deliberately interact with her, even with one of the UEFA officials trying to make him stop holding up the line and keep it moving.

I think it says a lot about his character, or at least I feel that way. It definitely makes me feel quite endeared towards him.

Well he does play left wing and likes Saka.

I really like the bloke to be honest. One of very few at City that I’ve got time for. People that I know that have come across him, say that he’s really cool and barely has an ego. He was on loan at Notts County as a teenager and people who were around him at the time (I know less than 5 people that were at the club or spent any sort of time around him) say he was hard working and committed.

Never really got the cunt narrative. He spends large parts of matches in the floor, but even with that, he not diving. He’s getting the shot kicked out of him!

Genuinely wish we had a need for him, but he doesn’t suit the no.8 position and his output isn’t enough for us to have him as a wide option.

My ex was phenomenal with kids. She was a special education teacher, her pupils adored her, all about human rights, inclusivity, world peace and prosperity yada yada.

She also turned out to have comorbid borderline personality disorder and narcissistic personality disorder ala Amber Heard and was abusive and manipulative as fuck.

All in all, I’ve learned not to trust superficial social appearance and go with my gut.

My gut tells me Graelish is a right cunt.

I’m probably not going to trust your gut though.
