Man City v Arsenal (Premier League)

With Grealish wanting to cut in, having a left-sided RB might not be terrible.

If Xhaka is out, we better fucking play Jorginho instead of that gimp Vieira.

We are likely fucked but should stay positive and we have all the talent and know-how to get a win.

It’s a mental thing we have to get over I guess

Yeah, I’d definitely go with that.

He’s been great all season imo, him and Ake have been really steady and underappreciated this season for them. Foden too to a lesser extent.

Fuck them all

Just remembered we’ve got two underperforming City players. It’s the rules that they somehow score against them.

Jesus is due that solo goal this season anyway and he dropped a disasterclass against Southampton. Come on you football gods.

Posted this in the Saliba thread.
I wouldn’t mind it at the Eithad.
Preferably, Martinelli RWB given his pace and energy.

City away isn’t the match to be experimenting in.

I agree.

It wouldn’t hurt trying something new in this game. It may surprise them. This Holding Gabriel partnership won’t work so why not try something new.

Maybe keep it but play 4 2 3 1 with Jorginho and Partey protecting the back 4.

Pep will play the same line up he played vs Bayern.

4 1 4 1 which is 3 2 4 1 with Stones stepping in midfield.

Their 4 behind Haaland are KDB, Grealish, Gundogan, Bernardo. Stop those 4 and we may have a chance. That’s why we need 3 at the back or 2 in front of the back 4.

We could play 7 at the back - we just concede a lot at the moment. Changing formation and personnel for the biggest game of the season seems a little bit wild.

Suggestions of Martinelli or Saka as wing backs. Why?

We’ve had big moments in our history. Anfield 89 and OT in 02 spring to mind.

We’ve handled massive occasions like this as a club and celebrated huge victories.

It’s a big ask to go there and win, but I’m keeping the faith. Yes I’ll be absolutely shit faced by the time the game starts, but it’s been an amazing season and I’m not giving up on it yet.

We could lose but our evolution this season has been phenomenal. As a fanbase, let’s not lose sight of the amazing improvement we’ve seen. This is the very beginning of this squad’s cycle. We’ll have more depth and experience next season.

We’re still right in this race. Anything can happen in 90 minutes of football. We’re Arsenal Football Club. Let’s act like the big bollocks because we’re gargantuan compared to these new money oil cunts.

Enjoy the moment because this is what it feels like to be truly competing. It’s wonderful to be back at the big table again.

In both games against Liverpool and West Ham I said we’d draw both but I also thought we would beat Man City and still do.
So I’ll go 2-1 with Odegaard and Martinelli to score.

One of them as RWB so White can play as RCB on a back 3.
We’ve played with Saka/Martinelli as wing backs last season vs Chelsea and it worked.

I normally don’t vote in matchday threads cause I am never absolutely sure about the outcome, but I have voted in this one and it’s for a Man City win. I just can’t see us winning it. This is just too much of an ask from this team at the moment.

Realistically a draw would still be great for us. City are away at Fulham 4 days later, have to hope someone can frustrate them and we go perfect for the final 5.
