Not sure that’s what I’d be doing, I don’t mind Torriera but his 2nd half of the season was pretty bang average, I’d prefer to see a consistent season in English football before offering improved terms.

4 years left on his contract, so unless we extended it to 6 years I wouldn’t want him getting a new contract right now…

Agreed though, #11 for Torreira is weird although he chose it to sit besides Ozil.
I believe Torreira is gonna have a thrilling season. He was one of the best DM in PL the first half of last season and now I think he will perform even better with 1 year of experience in English football.

I think he’d be a better fit than Guendouzi in a midfield with Ceballos and Willock. We need at least one CM with more defensive contribution and tenacity. The balance was a bit off today and Burnley’s players just had too much time on the ball in attacking areas.

Goal aside, he has a hunger that felt a little lost towards the end of last season. We all know his traits by now but I really feel we need to move into augmenting him in a more fluid midfield. He has the feet to evade any pressure we invite on ourselves in this system right now and he would be a huge benefit sitting deep/b2b almost.
