I don’t think Liverpool fans in their wildest dreams could imagine this start of the post-Klopp era.
Slot got them first in the league and in the champions league playing decent footy.

Some folks still think Liverpool haven’t been all that great this season and will eventually get found out. I will admit I haven’t been overly impressed by them in the games I have watched but if they are still able to win without playing well, I don’t see how that can be held against them.
They will definitely have a period where they will drop points but I don’t think that would be enough for the chasing pack to catch them. Injuries is the only thing that can slow them down. Let’s see how they go against City this weekend. I expect them to win.
We were 5 clear after 25 games in 2022-23 (over twice as many games).
It only takes 3 or 4 bad results for things to change, and that could even come as a string of 1-2 bad results a month or two apart.
I think it’s a bit crazy people are acting like the league is already done at this point when we all spent years watching us being overhauled as the season went on.
That was our first title race with this team, who were very inexperienced at that stage. Liverpool squad have way more experience and have won stuff on a regular basis.
They are 8 clear of City, might be 11 after this weekend. They are 9 clear of us and we still have to go to Anfield where we haven’t won in god know how many years. So, not only will they have to have a bad 3 or 4 games, we’ll have to pretty much match their results all the way until their slump and then win all our games at that point, for us to take advantage. And we’ll have to be lucky with injuries, especially to Saka and Ode. Seems like a tall order.
Let’s hope City get something out of the game this weekend.
BTW, are you referring to the last 2 years or before when Arsene was in charge?
Both.
They’ve only won 2 things in 7 years. And plenty of those players are not the same guys they were 4 years ago.
Sure, it won’t be easy for us but I’m also including City in this assessment too. If City win on the weekend, it’s now a 6 point gap for us and a 5 point one for City. Draw and we’re 7 behind with 25 games to play. Pretty much where we were in 22-23 but with much longer to go.
I think later years under Arsene should be excluded. Our mental fragility then was famous. We didn’t like the physical stuff and we struggled against our direct competitors. It only took one thing to go wrong for us to crumble back then.

2 big things but also an FA Cup and 2 EFL Cups in the last 3 seasons. Can’t discount them.
Can’t discount them.
Can’t discount them but can us. That’s the bit i dont get.
Can’t discount the trophies they won in the last 3 years.
Let’s hope City get something out of the game this weekend.
Crazy these shitheads collapse this season. Would have been nice if they did that the last two seasons. We’d have two more league titles in the cabinet.
So far the baldies > hairy

The point was that early season form doesn’t always indicate late season success.
You could also argue Liverpool haven’t had a single thing go wrong as yet for them. No major injuries, easy draw and played us when we were under-strength, United when they were in a terrible spot etc etc.
No major injuries
Liverpool fans will have you know Becker and Jota are big misses in that team. But yes, they’ve been reasonably lucky with injuries and that’s what I mentioned in my earlier post. Injuries to key players (VVD, Salah, TAA, Gravenberch) will set them back quite significantly.
Some of the transfer takes I’ve heard re: Klopp I can’t imagine what a shit show it would have been there if they gave him autonomy over transfers.
Surely they will drop points without him
He has been immense for them so if he is unavailable for an extended period, that is indeed a blow for them
Would be a real shame if Virgil got injured now too. A real shame.

and Salah
Let’s see how this affects them. Their next few games are tricky and a first choice CB missing should cause them some problems, hopefully.
