I wouldn’t say a draw is unreal, it’s credible but I wouldn’t be celebrating with it because that still leaves the door open for City to overtake us if they beat us at the Etihad.
One of those games where we should win comfortably on form but home advantage plays a huge factor for Liverpool (look at their away form) and have that feeling they’ll decide to turn up big for that game.
Hopefully they get the reaction out of the way tonight and end chelsea. 10-0 and new record would do.
Its an acid test for us, and the team have shown why we should be backing them rather than having no faith. They have come through every test put to them so far and are still top leading the way with 9 games to go, so its hard to feel slightly negative and cautious about this game.
Really hope they put it a few poor performances like they did pre World-Cup, Everton and Brentford at home. They look to be in a real purple patch now though.
Liverpool are a team that has struggled and somewhat fizzled out after putting absolutely everything into the previous season. There is a lot of mileage in that team.
Our game comes at the end of three very tough games for them. Hopefully they put a lot of stock into their game vs chavs and have a little less in the tank when it comes to playing us.
Ideally they get the win at the bridge, and shit the bed on the weekend.
Watched them against City ane overall I think they were poor
Went a goal up but had nothing about them, tried to play on the break but as soon as City went forwards they crumbled
If we play to our maximum, we could really hurt them
Keep it very compact and conservative the first 25 minutes. Then play our game once the initial crowd energy has diminished.
We are the better team this season and over 90 minutes we will have chances to score. But we need to be pragmatic and survive the initial onslaught. They always game raise against us, so let’s just suck the life out of the game. Don’t give Salah any space to run in behind, don’t over commit players forward.
Martinelli / Trossard need to target Trent and that will bear fruit.
exactly.
We need to be careful on their counter.
Salah, Nunez and Gakpo can do the damage just like an in-form Rashford.
Other than that, if we are settled in the game, and not conceding stupid/lazy goal… we would be fine.
We are on par with them on every category this season.
Just be cautious.
