Liverpool Vs Arsenal (Premier League) 2-2

Our players must be so focussed, fired up and rested for this. Surely, surely we’ll put in a good performance.

I know our record at Anfield is piss poor but Liverpool aren’t the same team they’ve been for the last 5 or 6 years. And we are a completely different team from the one that has that poor record. We shouldn’t even look at our past record there IMO.

I think we should just treat this game as it what it is, another away fixture against a mid table team. I don’t want us to approach this game with any fear or doubt due to our past record. I know it’s easier said than done but I think in such games, it’s often the mental makeup that determines the outcome.

Are Liverpool really a completely different team at Anfield or is it just that visiting teams go there expecting to lose? Real Madrid just recently shattered that invincible image of Champions League nights at Anfield, and this was after conceding 2 early goals.

Yeah I’m really starting to look forward to it as well, although definitely getting some real nerves as well.

There is never and good time to play these .
Even if they are having a rough time . We all know they are capable of turning in an incredible performance.
We seem to get stage fright going Anfield and let’s hope we don’t get that this Sunday.
Let’s get the job done and put a huge mark in the sand .

Yep, we need to have city fans feeling how we felt last week when they came through completely unscathed.

They’ll be banking on Liverpool, Newcastle or Chelsea doing them a favour in this run in. We need to knock that first one down.

It is about time we went to Anfield and demolish this lot. It long overdue.

I know!!

Although professionally this week has gone so quickly.

Our departments manager has been on holiday the whole week and it’s been fantastic - everyone is in such a good mood, hanging out and chatting in the corridor and each others offices, leaving early for drinks etc.

Shame he’s back next week lol

I’m not and never have looked forward to us going to Anfield .
There is just something about them being able to turn it in when they like. I’ll take a draw right now.
It’s only Thursday and the media are begging for Liverpool to win.
Come on boys .

I wouldn’t take a draw and the reason is mainly. A draw at Anfield and a loss at City means City potentially overtake us on GD. I just feel the reward for winning is greater than the devastation of a loss instead of a draw.

In other words what I’m saying is, if the point from the draw kept us above City even if we lost at the Etihad I’d be more inclined to take a draw.

Cancelling each other out is only really important when it’s against a direct competitor.

Go for it Arsenal.

I’m split between being nervous and excited for this game. It’s Anfield but we’re so superior to them right now. Brilliant opportunity for us to make a statement, but equally a huge banana skin.

I’m missing the first half due to the missus making plans to meet with her friends who are non-football people, so I’ll be anxiously checking my phone for updates. Don’t care if it’s rude. It’s rude to make plans when there’s such a big game on.

My wife would never

She has the Arsenal fixtures in her calendar and checks with me before booking trips away, days out or anything that may affect me being there or watching it

We are at Centre Parcs this weekend, and she had already booked a table in the Sports bar for lunch so we can watch the game.

We have a chance to do the double on these fuckers. Already done it on Spurs. And could also do it on Chelsea yet.

A win here would mean so much.

We’d also be top of the “Big 6 head to head” table with a draw or win. Currently we have 15 points from our 7 big games. City also have 15 but from 8 games.

I’ve pretty much added Newcastle to that this season and call it a “ big 7 “ table.

Sucks we have to wait all the way until Sunday (monday for us southerners) for this game. A win here is just huge for us mentally and in terms of the table. Beat Pool and hopefully keep the roll on against West Ham and Southampton. Would be beautiful to go into the City game having maintained our streak.

You and @Cristo need to go AWOL and head to a pub together to watch it :joy:

Agreed to go to the in laws for Easter Sunday lunch. I still get to watch the game, but it does basically mean I’ll have to control my behaviour to an extent with which I’m not entirely comfortable, considering the magnitude of the game. For example, there can be no screaming about people being scouse cunts, which is quite the burden for me to carry on my shoulders.

I could have said I didn’t want to go, but I chose the option that would make my wife and her family happy, reluctantly. Had I not received certain guarantees it would have had to be a no no.

FYI, I watched us play Liverpool round their house once before in 2015, and we beat em 4-1, so the omens are good. If @Sol had the balls to sack off this social plan and get himself and his daughter plonked in front of the match we’d be almost guaranteed victory, especially given @Calum made the matchday thread.
