Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE)

There are only really two examples of this happening, one involving Qatar, so I don’t think we can really draw conclusions about what they would or would not do.

I agree it makes a lot more sense economically to buy a club for 350m and then spend another billion on transfers. But that’s a long term plan and they could have a shorter time horizon. As the historically biggest club in London, Arsenal also just has cachet and potential appeal that other clubs will never have. London is a playground for the global elite that Qatar wants to attract, the Qatar investment Authority is already the biggest real estate holder in London by some accounts, there is potentially a greater logic to owning Arsenal (compared to, say, Leeds) beyond the immediate economic cost. And it’s really just not a lot of money for a government.

I’m skeptical of it happening but I don’t think the cost is really a prohibitive factor for them.

Wasn’t a theory or a possibility. It was either Stan or Usmanov. The supporters trust or whatever didn’t have enough shares to matter nor change anything they didn’t like.

Hopefully Mads and Turk will be smart like their mom and get a scholarship.

I’ll just spend the money on vintage adidas shoes instead of Arsenal gear.

Fuck I’d love it to be true for a variety of reasons.

KSE are grubs anyways so I’m not fussed if we’re owned by Qatari grubs.

So much dirty money in football anyways irrespective of what we do.

I’d rather get up at all hours and watch us compete for the top trophies as opposed to the midtable junk we are now

Can I change my mind about Qatar buying us?

Sack everybody.

It’s not realistic when bids in excess of 2bn have already been rebuffed. It’s like trying to buy an entire town where people are happily settled and all own their houses and businesses.

I’ve walked away after many decades of support, I now follow AFC Wimbledon …though Arsenal is in my veins …
Arsenal Fans should control their destiny, don’t let the club be a trinket for the super Rich…
It can be done, I am involved now with the Dons Trust that is the democratically elected body that controls AFC WIMBLEDON.
IT IS POSSIBLE, I see Dial Square FC has been formed, support them
Be patient and see your child grow into your dream

Nah man we need those crazy Arab owners who on a cocaine hooker fuelled night will decide on a whim that we need Haaland, if for nothing but to one up that dog Hamdy at PSG, bleeez bring on the new Qatari overlords.

It’s interesting how investment is portrayed. Mansour spent something like £150m on City, and I think they have something like £1100m net on transfers (and this won’t have all come directly from the owners pocket).

But then people want someone to pay £2000-£3000m to buy a piece of shit Arsenal team that then needs another £300m or whatever spent on it, because of an international Twitter following and some decent London real estate.

I saw an interesting article on Man City about how they’d been slowly selling off minority stakes (around 25%) in their group to investors for something like £600m, so City could now be a legit enterprise for the owner to grow their wealth in and recoup money from rather than just being a black hole that they pour money into as it’s been portrayed for the last decade.

When this is what you can do with a worthless club you wonder why anyone would bother with us unless they were a real fan who didn’t mind taking a big risk with such huge amounts of money.

That is crazy, I wonder what City would be worth now if they were to sell it. Though I do think a club like Arsenal with it’s history and location will always hold it’s value but the funny money in football is more and more getting to be about vanity projects and playthings for the ultra elite than genuine equity builders.

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if this was the Kroenke’s exit plan all along wait until someone with an exponential net worth comes around and makes you an offer you can’t refuse. Make’s a lot more sense to me from Kroenke’s perspective than selling to Ek and half the Invincible squad.

This only really makes sense if greed in itself or capital gain was ever KSE’s primary motive, which it’s not.

EK’s offer, if it was really true, would have made Arsenal the most expensive takeover in football history by some distance. Not sure there are many people out there who would/could offer 3 to 4bn for Arsenal FC

Though here we are where it looks like one of those few people may be interested in Arsenal. I know if I were in the Kroenke’s position I’d always be thinking about what it would take for me to sell. There’s a saying, the first day you buy a property is the first day you think about selling.

I think personally all this Twitter stuff is just the Qataris having fun, but if they truely were interested then it’s far more likely than Ek which I never really had much faith in.

Also out of interest what do you think the Kroenke’s main goal is? The answer is always money when it comes to guys like this, well anyone really but I’d like to hear what you think are his motivations and end goals?

Prestige, legacy and ego mainly. I think his ventures into sport were based on genuine interest at one point but now it’s mainly tied to the ego of a billionaire giving his descendants rare/unique heirlooms in something alot of people will always care about. Stan himself will be gone for a while before Sofi Stadium starts to be profitable, he knows this

Money plays a part for sure but the Kroenke/Walton family is independently wealthy many times over. It’s absurd to regular people but it’s definitely a flex for KSE (old money) is able to reject a £2bn from Ek (new money) with ease. They really don’t need the money

The realestate is the biggest asset within their overall investment I’d assume. When they moved the St. Louis Rams to L.A. I’m sure the realestate played a big, if not the biggest part.

Dial Square Football Club is an English football club based in Addlestone, Surrey, England. It was founded as a protest club by fans of the Premier League team Arsenal, who had become disillusioned with the club’s direction under the ownership of the Kroenke Sports & Entertainment group.Wikipedia

It will only take a few thousand Arsenal Fans to light the touch paper and get this entity into space …Get Dial Square out of Surrey and into North London

These numbers look too strange for my small brain to figure out this early in the morning. Is £2,000 million the same as £2 billion?

Yes.

These people are so clueless and beta, man.

Fair enough they know fuck all about football, but because of how shit they’ve been as owners, they are now losing money.

You can tell their wealth is all inheritance, they have no idea about how to run a business.

Imagine I owned something and hired a manager that sacked or pissed off all the good staff, kept on the shit staff despite constant mistakes, and wasted so much money on continual terrible decisions.

And also managers that hired based on who their mates are or as favours to their dodgy mates.

I’d be mortified, horrified and sack the moron ASAP.

How are the Kroenkes not seeing what’s going on? They are being used and abused for their cash and their asset is being used as a gravy train for idiotic corrupt conmen.

It’s a consistent decline.
