Kevin De Bruyne

Eze in that team could be big time

But yeah there’s no like for like out there, for me he’s the best midfielder in the PL era

Big loss for them if true

I doubt Al-Ittihad are gonna sign KdB too.

At best they’ll get Ederson now that Al-Nassr signed Bento and that’d be it.

Pep said he’s staying btw.

Kevin De Bruyne’s contract at Manchester City expires at the end of the season. He has three main options at present — extend with City by a year, move to Saudi Arabia or join Major League Soccer. A fresh City deal would likely be for 12 months, prior to potentially sampling a different market. If he leaves the Premier League, realistically, he will not be returning. The door is open at City — he would basically need to inform them of his intentions and an agreement should be straightforward. If he moves to Saudi Arabia, it would almost certainly be a PIF-backed club; probably Al Nassr or Al Ahli. There have also been some conversations with MLS sides but mainly centrally via MLS itself. Most teams would jump at the chance to sign him, even if it means shifting designated players to make space.

Dear Kevin, Al-Nassr is calling. :palm_up_hand:
Don’t worry, Otavio and Brozovic will do the running for you. :ok_hand:

OAP De Bruyne feeding OAP Ronaldo would be a sight to see for even just a year.

KDB is no longer a prime time player.
Him staying or not doesn’t matter.
Having Gundogan as alternative was another wrong decision by Pep.

I don’t quite agree with that

He’s still prime time issue is him being able to play one the pitch, he is still highly impactful if he can actually stay on the pitch long enough

When he does leave it will leave a huge hole for them which will be incredibly difficult to fill both in quality and status/star power.

Gundogan though is totally cooked, Pep is making a mistake in playing him so much. It’s game over.

He’s cooked physically, certainly for a Pep team, but his delivery is still top notch.

Such a shame :arteta:
Snide little cunt has pissed me off over the years, will be glad to see the back of him lol

Where was this totally washed version of KdB in the previous two seasons ffs?

No wonde the dude publicly contemplating about going to Saudi last summer.

Unused sub in what could have been his last CL appearance.

Beyond the absence of Rodri and Foden this season, I think his absence has been massive.
Even last season when he missed the first half of it, his return rejuvenated them and helped them pick up some crucial points, which in the end did decide the title.
Haaland is x10 a bigger threat when he plays with Kevin.

I’d say finding a replacement should be their #1 priority but players like him don’t grow in trees. They’ve had a massive window in January but I think their rebuilding job is far from complete.

The foundation of their recent dominance was three absolutely no brainer world class midfielders and now they have none. KDB is cooked beyond repair, Bernardo can play but has no legs and just can’t keep up with the pace of the game anymore, Rodri will return but at 29 coming ACL surgery who knows whether he will ever hit his former level.

Replacing world class players is really hard unless you’re Real Madrid and you get first choice of all targets. Marmoush is a nice player who will score some goals in the PL playing off Haaland, but he isn’t KDB or anywhere close. Nico Gonzalez looks like a squad player. Those kinds of players aren’t going to scare Real Madrid or bring City back to a level where they can boss games against the biggest sides.

I think the biggest revelation and disappointment this year is that Phil Foden seems totally incapable of replacing KDB as the main fulcrum in their attack playing off and supplying Haaland. He’s a brilliant technician and great finisher if you have world class players around him that are providing the platform, stressing the defense, and getting him into good positions time after time. But he isn’t the guy to build the attack around or that can truly take the load on his shoulders and make the difference. They had that guy and they sold him to Chelsea.

His attitude sucks.

I think they should definitely explore the possibility of bringing Palmer back if Chelsea fail to secure a CL spot next season.

What that could mean for Foden that’s another case though…

That would be brilliant for City but I can’t see Chelsea selling him. He’s basically the only true bright spot to come out of the Boehly/Clearlake project so far and their fans would probably burn down Stamford Bridge if he was sold. And he’s got basically zero leverage to force a move given he signed a contract until the next millennium.

All this while they thought Foden is De Bruyne’s replacement but they actually had two and they sold the better one.
