Kevin De Bruyne

He’s gonna get one last FA cup to sign off with and a nice little pay day in the sun.

So glad they didn’t get the 50m rumoured, they still need to replace him now, less ‘visible’ funds to do it with and really got nothing valuable out of him this year.

Couldn’t have gone much better tbh, exactly how I hoped.

Mostly fair points except Palmer I like him but he mostly looks the part against lesser teams but is consistently found wanting especially in big games and lesser degree away from home.

Additionally, his lack of versatility can potentially become problematic, right now I wouldn’t play him out wide because he lacks the work rate required. He seems most effective in a free role or as #10 but how many top teams can accommodate that every week?

Also haven’t seen whether he can sustain the rigours of a season, currently been protected a great deal not playing in Europe.

Fair. Palmer hasn’t been tested in terms of his ability to lead a top club in the fight for big trophies, although I think he has at least shown the personality and skill set to potentially be that guy in a way that Foden just hasn’t.

Tbf, he hasn’t been able to run for a while now, wasn’t
an issue before. I’m not sure if it’s a drop-off we’re seeing or hin just being exposed now that he’s not playing in a team that’s firing in all cylinders.

This is the Bernardo I’m used to watching for Portugal. Bit of cherry on top player. He’s always neat with the ball and can produce moments of magic but ultimately he’s not a player that can drag his team when they need him. In terms of impact, I think Bruno has the edge on that.

Both not good enough when it matters, that’s why I’ve not subscribed to Portugal having some wonder team in recent years. France at a minimum have always been more stacked.

Bruno’s record in major tournaments is almost as bad as Ronnie’s. Silva never pops up with anything when they need it, he has for city in the past but not really anymore.

Maybe a little from column a, a little from column b. I definitely agree that the way City are playing this season do him no favors. But he has always been a player with a very high work rate, especially as one of their best pressers, and this season he doesn’t seem to have the legs for it anymore. I watch City when they’re out of possession and he seems like a passenger jogging around while the game goes by half the time.

Definitely lost his edge physically.

Used to be one of the very best pressers in the game despite not being a top athlete

Excellent technician at his peak

The hamstring surgery really nerfed him

Brilliant Premier League player.

Best midfielder in the PL era

Fantastic watch at his peak

I don’t think Pep would have been as successful without him in the team working his magic.

Imagine De Bruyne without the injuries and you have Salah.
The two most influential and biggest game changing players in the PL.

What a player.

He’s been off it a while so not exactly relieved to see the end of him in that sense anymore.

Does he make anyone else’s all-time PL XI?

He does in mine.
He does everything you can ask from a midfielder.

MLS seems to be where he is going
