It’s really tough because I find this iteration of the team so likable and then we add two Chelsea rejects to the mix and it’s just like…ugh, do I have to root for these guys and like them?
Think Kai is the sort of player who’ll excel at a place where good quality football is a priority, and that’s what we have at Arsenal. Can see Arteta bringing out the best of him.
Do you still dislike Jorginho?
I’m coming around to the idea of this. Havertz is an absolute baller. Going to trust Mikel on this one.
In what way are they Chelsea rejects?

Chelsea fans going apeshit with these posts from their “former” players.
Not only are they losing the last players that helped them win that CL back in 2021 but they’re leaving in the worst possible way, possibly souring that relationship forever(low-key feel that way about our last FA Cup win).

Probably in the sense that they are two players who Chelsea were perfectly willing to sell.
Can’t this be said for most of the team though? Anyone who doesn’t fit that is either too shit for anyone to care or they’re too new for Chelsea to deem the “sellable” just yet.
Give it a year and if Mudryk and Enzo don’t kick on they’ll want them gone ASAP.
Being out of favour isn’t the same as being a reject. Holding and Pepe are Arsenal rejects; Tierney and ESR are out of favour.
Yeah this is where I’m coming from really.
I don’t think the higher ups at Chelsea have a clue what they’re doing. They don’t seem to like or know any of their players. Find it a bit hard to call them rejects. They’re making steps up, not being dumped in Ligue 1.
This is not like signing Cech, Benayoun, Willian or David Luiz. This is a 24-year old player with massive potential who can become great for us.
This is just semantics tbh
Rejected, unwanted, out of favour they all stem from the same tree
Regardless of what they are they will all hopefully be able to help strengthen the team
It’s a bigger risk than all of those others at the same time.
I’ve convinced myself he’s gonna be sick and our midfield will have the most goal involvements of any in the league though.
He seems like a normal guy. He did an episode of Fake News and didn’t come across like an asshole. But he’s just very Chelsea to me. I hate buying players from them. It’s totally irrational, I can admit that.
@Phoebica Chelsea were ready to boot both of those guys out. And even if you’re feeling bullish on Havertz’s raw talent he’s been massively underwhelming in the PL.
Sure. But at the same time he has shown to posess the qualities needed to occupy that second #10 spot. Quick feet, good dribble and close control, clever passer etc.
I do get it. He has been three years at Chelsea and the return is little. But as far as a player we are looking for he fits really well with his profile.
Yep but his finishing has been dogshit at Chelsea and the defensive side of the game from Xhaka I think our fans underrate.
Keen to see how Mikel fixes those two things and going to be positive about this one
Well no. They’ll have players they want to sell, and those they don’t. Like how we were happy to sell Iwobi and Walcott, but really didn’t want to sell van Persie, Fabregas and many others, but did as we felt we kinda had no choice.
I’m not personally labelling them Chelsea rejects, I just think it’s pretty obvious what was meant when they were described as such.
It’s not senatics though, Havertz was starting most games for Chelsea and starts for Germany. Either he’s fallen out of favour or he’s fallen out of love with Chelsea.
I mean do we call Neymar as PSG reject if they sell him this summer?
He will have to conform to our team pressing and the work rate indeed.
Xhaka gave us more insurance in defense but made our attack assymetric. It had all had to come from Odegaard in and around the opposition box. Now we have two players who can be dangerous in those areas.
But agreed. Rice or whoever our new dm is going to be is going to have a tough task.
What does starting games have to do with it? Ozil could be said to have been a Real reject same goes for Alexis at Barca
Fact is Chelsea are happy to cash in so yeah one could say he’s a reject, it’s not a controversial statement
