Kai Havertz (29)

You don’t think Chelsea are perfectly happy to sell him? Or do you think we have strong armed them and forced them into making a sale they dont want to?

Seems to me they actively want to sell and move in a new direction.

It’s funny man because if he was signing for another team best believe people would be calling him a reject lol

I get this is what we as fans sometimes do but is a bit funny nonetheless

No idea who thoss two are that he slosinf with but I’ll take it.

Get him in when we play the chavs, fuel for the fire against those fucks.

Ozil being classified as a Real reject would have been bonkers. They sold him to fund Bale. Ozil was a World Class player.

A player being sold doesn’t automatically mean that they’re a reject.

If we sell Partey, is he a reject? Football is more complex than this

People taking a phrase thrown around in football way too seriously

Can be said about almost anyone that isn’t invaluable to their club and moves on

Get the impression that Havertz doesn’t like ye direction that the club is moving in. Us, Bayern and allegedly Madrid were his suitors - not bad for a Chelsea, reject.

Ozil was cast off doesn’t matter for who, same with Alexis

It doesn’t matter how many games you’ve played or what you’ve done previously, in that moment where they decide they no longer want you then you become rejected, unwanted, out of favour or whatever else you want to call it

Odegaard, Zinchenko and Jesus are all rejects too. We are Rejected FC.

I didnt ask you about Havertz opinion on leaving Chelsea, I asked you about Chelsea’s stance.

Bergkamp, Henry and Vieira all had rocky spells to us signing them

Now that he’s an Arsenal player (almost), we just now need to focus on how we can the best out of him. There is clearly a player with talent there. That’s clear when he played in Germany. He is only 24 and won’t need to adapt to the PL.

As a result of FFP, Chelsea are clearly having to take a hard line now with any players with 2 or less years left on their contract. Either they sign a new deal or they get sold. Or in some cases, they just want to move the player on. I think Mount and Havertz fit into the former category.

They literally rejected him to sign a player they wanted more lol

Attributing all these things to guys that actually have nothing to do with being rejected or not haha

The idea that they want to sell seems baseless.

This is bonkers. Rejecting him is not playing him, loaning him or letting his contract run down.

Ozil was one of the stars at Madrid.

Players are allowed to be sold without being rejects.

Jorginho might fit the bill, Havertz, Ozil and Casimero (reject right) do not.

Okay obviously this is my fault for being a dickhead and calling him a Chelsea reject.

I just prefer we don’t sign players from them full stop because we don’t have an awesome track record of it. But I also recognize it’s going to be happening more and more as few teams can afford to buy from each other outside the PL.

They clearly felt Ozil was disposable and theyd be better off with a new attacking player instrad. The idea thay a reject cant have beenam a regular player before they are sold seems mad to me, and a bizarre definition. Iwobi played 50 odd times the season before we sold him, and he was absolutely a reject.

We clearly have very different definitions of what a reject is.

The sale of Havertz is largely influenced by the fact he has 2 years left on his contract and his refusal to sign a new one. The same can be said for Mason Mount who turned down Chelsea’s contract offer, making them open to selling him with 1 year left. While I understand the sentiment, describing them as rejects feels somewhat awkward.

Iwobi had no future at Arsenal. No where near good enough for the club but saying that I’m still amazed how much we got for him. Probably one of our best sales in the last 10+ years.

I think the ‘reject’ term in connection with Havertz is a mute point. They are clearly having to sell lots of players, and can’t afford to lose valuable assets with 2 or less years on his contract. We probably won’t know for sure, at least for some time, whether Chelsea were willing to extend his deal or whether they were happy to move him on. He hasn’t lived up to expectations at Chelsea, so we need to hope that Arteta has a clear plan on how to use him and get the best out of him.

EDIT:

Did they offer him a new deal? I haven’t seen that reported anywhere?
