Jude Bellingham

I’ve never understood this argument. Going to a match means you cheer on the team. It doesn’t stop you from being critical of a player before or after the whistle.

Been a top signng for Madrid.

Before his redemption last season, which one he was outstanding and fans begging him stay for another year or so?

Yes, he can be the easy scapegoat but does not mean we have to make him the scapegoat.

The only noticable mistake he made so far, is the game against Fulham (or other??), a lazy sideway one time pass that eventually led to a goal that we conceded.
Other than that, he was a solid player for us.

All other sins that people made up were just bull shit… slow down our attack, not contributing G/A enough…

65m a ridiculous fee?
115m for Caicedo was ridiculous.
65m was more than market value but nothing close to the word “ridiculous”.

You know what? I just think the opposite of what you are thinking.
I think Arteta is trying to be ease on him, and let him integrate into the team gradually, nothing about losing faith or whatsoever. The first five games might be a little bit forcing to, but now is giving him more time.

Pretty sure that pass was against Man United from memory.

Thank fuck he didn’t end up at City or Liverpool.

don’t remember… I only remember he made that pass out of the opponent’s box, in the final third… somehow nobody could make a stop or tackle for that long distance, and we conceded

Well you don’t, because we agree completely on this.

reasonable? I think so. 13 goals in 13 games for Real as of now for starters, but has shown a very complete game as well.

Yeah totally bullshit that someone could take issue with a 1/1 g/a record over ten games. The absolute nerve!

Basically he only started 5 and had four 10-15 minutes substitutions cameo, and one at half time for Vieira.

even the prime Xhaka could not get more than that from this number of appearances/minutes.

Xhaka wasn’t a passenger. He was never shy of getting on the ball and committing to the tackle and the press. Poor as a DM, good as a CM. Unless you mean he was a passenger because of his calamitous moments and athletic deficiencies?

Bellingham scores a brace in El Classico including a twenty-five ysrd banger. He then wins an individual award. Meanwhile, his topic gets turned into Xhaka vs Havertz. Madness.

Phone blowing up with 50+ messages on this Jude.

For a moment I thought there might be a Fabrizio tweet citing a January move to The Arsenal.

Ask @Pires

Xhaka was not a passenger???

I watched the games you watched… basically Xhaka was waiting for someone to pass him the ball most of the times. He would stand in between Ode/Martinelli and Zinny and wait for them to pass him the ball.
Whenever he had it, he basically did a one touch back to his teammates, never really carried the ball up or challenge any defender.
Yes, he would make some long passing, or take a shot, when he was wide open. WIDE OPEN.

If you are complaining Havertz not aggressive enough or take initiative to run the attack.
Sorry, Xhaka not doing that as well.
His had as many sideway passing and back passing as Kai did, but the appreciation is only on Xhaka.

I don’t think the second sentence explains the first. Never shy of getting on the ball suggests he was rash (and he absolutely was). He may not have been a passenger in the mould of Denilson, but when you’re not contributing offensively, what on earth are you doing on the pitch? When you’re a liability on the ball (there were times when he was having trouble making simple passes in previous seasons), then you’re not contributing defensively either.

We were having a G/A contributions discussion earlier. I think someone mentioned 8 in total last season as a no.8. That’s in his best season for Arsenal. We need better numbers and Havertz is someone who can get that. Arteta sees it.

We’ve moved on from Xhaka, thankfully. Waiting 6 or 7 seasons for him to come good is shocking and inexplicable (and even last season was overrated in my opinion- he was just as guilty of dropping his head in the spring as other players on the pitch). Some people are impatient with Havertz after 10 games. Doesn’t make sense. He hasn’t even played the full 90 in 7 of the 10 PL games

Do Madrid fans sing Hey Jude?

Yes, but they replace the words with “Giroud” (even though the lamppost isn’t their player)

I think they sing ‘We’ve (not) got Granit Xhaka…’
