My bad, typo…
The Xhaka you were mentioning, was the Xhaka that made numerous mistakes, wreckless tackles and stupid decisions; and finally spent 5 years to settle down.
Mate, I’m dead certain Havertz can surpass that in his first season alone. Xhaka needed like 6 or 7 seasons to get those stats.
Yeah, I said for better or worse. Havertz isn’t doing anything to really put his fingerprints on the game aside from one or two high profile bad moments.
Xhaka’s final season was a good one.
Before that (Using the same site) he had THREE back to back seasons where he had 1 goal and 2 assists for the season.
We had to wait a long arse time for him to produce.
We also notably changed his position. Maybe we should consider moving Havertz to a different position too.
Wondering what high profile mistakes that he made while his track back, one on one duels, hold up and occupying space and attracting defenders did not get enough recognition.
Talk about mistakes, Saka’s back pass cost us a goal and our keepers’ bad decisions are far more serious mistakes that need to be brought up
Recently Ode’s mistake that led to Chelsea’s goal not worth mentioning?
Hate is hate, I got it
He works hard, who gives a shit? Everyone works hard.
He’s been too anonymous at times and really the only two big things he’s done that comes to mind is the mistake against United and the assist against City.
I’ve been very transparent. I didn’t want him here but I’m more than willing to talk myself into why it could work. Right now it looks like we signed a decent backup striker which is fine because I think we can do interesting things with him and Raya’s distribution but it’s definitely a disappointment stacked up against the fee.
He was not anonymous.
Obviously you don’t give a shit, and you don’t know the word “appreciate”, and you chose to be blind and not seeing his work on the field.
I’m transparent here also.
He is our player, he works hard to get things done and he is not offering us Gs and As but helping us in other areas that we are lacking.
His talent is here, just takes time.
So he deserves fans’ patience and opportunities.
Most importantly, Arteta is still testing out his best position. Dude already played multiple positions in about 10 games.
10 games or so in a season are nothing.
You don’t need to say it but the word “hate” is everywhere.
I’ve seen his work on the field. I’m just not convinced that’s what we bought him for.
And even if I dislike a player, I’m not going to ignore when they play well. I’ve been very complimentary of Jorginho when he plays well.
It seems that Havertz has been a (rare) mistake by Edu/Arteta on the market. Nothing wrong with admitting that.
Shhhhh. You can’t say that. It’s only been ten games.
Nah, 10 games enough to prove everything.
This is current Arsenal standard.
Previously Xhaka could have 5 seasons to prove it.
Now starting 5 and have another 5 substitution cameos are enough to judge.
Am I right??
Or 10 games are too many already?
I didn’t even need to see a single match with Willian to know he was shit.
Havertz isn’t working right now. It’s okay to admit that. He hasn’t been able to lock that eight position down despite plenty of chances. Maybe he’ll get there, maybe he won’t but right now it’s not working.
Where he has looked very useful is up front.
There’s no shame in that. Like you pointed out, it took Xhaka five years and a few position changes for us to figure out what he was good for.
Xhaka didn’t get five seasons to prove himself. There was a broad consensus he wasn’t it for us. I think he surprised (most of) us with the decent season he had last season.
I mean the guy got fuckin booed off the pitch, he didn’t get time at all.
But Mikel found a role that worked for him and now has to do the same with Havertz, although you have to imagine he had it in mind already when buying him for 65m.
Ron you’re just too invested in Havertz bro, he came from Chelsea for a ridiculous fee after flopping for 3 years, you’ve got to expect he’s gonna be an easy scapegoat and it’s gonna take a lot for many fans to be on board. Yes we should try to back all our players but it was a huge investment and so far needs a lot more work to be worth it.
Told you weeks ago he should be a bench player for now and likely this season we won’t get much special out of him as he integrates.
Only on an online forum.
The fans at the games love him and have great faith in him.
Havertz has already outdone Xhaka defensively by quite a margin and he used to be a forward. In fact, he’s the best at it outside of Rice and Partey from our midfielders.
He’s also on course to outdo what G/As numbers Xhaka used to get on a regular season.
Last season aside when he played out of his skin, Xhaka used to get about 5 G/As at best.
It’s funny how people were twerking for Caicedo for months so he could do what Havertz is doing now despite being a proven nonfactor in terms of G/As.
It’s only a matter of time before he starts producing in that department but if you want to write him off just a couple of months into his time, suit yourself.
I presume that’s because matchgoing fans often notice the players that work the most?
People genuinely laugh at it when it’s brought up but the dude is certainly not slacking on that pitch. Against Sheffield Utd he won more duels than even Rice.
