João Félix

More of a false nine. He can play support though.

Very intelligent footballer.

I wasn’t sure if he had the tactical mind to hack it since there is an alleged fallout with Cholo. Maybe they’re just both dickheads and it has nothing to do with Felix having the intelligence to do positional play.

Think it’s just a bad match style wise and tactically. Atletico is no place for a flair player.

Always seemed like a bad matchup tbf but remember thinking it might lead to a slight change of approach from Simeone.

Turns out it was purely a big statement to cover the loss of Griezmann to Barca.

What a weird transfer that was. One of the few that actually warrants the use of the term “saga”

Remember when United spent 15-20mill on a loan deal for Falcao? I can see Chelsea desperately going above and beyond for this as well

They sure love their false 9s

The only thing false about a ch💩lsea 9 is their ability to put the goals away.

*caveat: recently.

Apart from Mudryk I really haven’t been invested in any other move, especially not this one.

Feels like too much noise, mixed information from known sources, player being in advanced talks with multiple clubs, Atleti’s needs changing a lot.

Certainly feels like lots of talk being fed to media to drive up interest.

We NEED something like this. Our bench is barren. He’s bordering World Class, available, has a point to prove and fits Arteta-ball. Edu knows Mendes. I would love this.

Bordering world-class but hasn’t managed to nail a starting spot for neither club or country(was having the same issues fitting into the Portuguese team before the World Cup too, wouldn’t have started if Jota was available).

Let’s relax a bit.

Minus the league title wins (although I believe Felix has one), how different is his profile to the Gabby Jesus who cannot nail a starting position for Brazil over Richarlison and was deemed surplus by City?

Think Felix is one of those that is going to explode as his next club.

P. S. I actually think Jesus is World Class and Felix not quite.

City and Brazil are not comparable with Atleti and Portugal.

Also, Pep showed more trust in Jesus, especially in big games. Can’t say the same for Felix and Cholo.

This Felix move will certainly not be in any way similar to Jesus. Jesus put City in a tough spot being in the last year of his contract and making it clear he wanted to go. He also just played a massive role in their strong finish of the season.

Felix is an underperforming expensive signing on high wages in a side that’s been struggling a lot since 2021(they almost choked winning the league back then).

Anyway, Atleti seem to have no interest in making a considerable loss on him.
I’ve been very wary of Ben Jacobs recently regarding rumours but he raised some valid reasons on why the Felix move is more complex financially.

Add to that all the noise about Atleti asking for 100+m for him.

I don’t see our club being desperate enough to sign him under such circumstances.

Or you could look at it as a 20m punt to win the league and/or Europa.

There is no guarantee that Felix would be a hit here, but there can be no doubt that his technical level is good enough.

No option to buy? No thanks Felix

Can I also ask why City and Brazil are not comparable to Atletico and Portugal?

Atletico have more Champions League pedigree and actually play with a striker this has been the case for around ten years vs no Champions League City who were playing false nine last year and Jesus wasn’t a main man. Portugal are very stacked in the forward areas and have one of the best players ever to play the game occupying one of the spots.

Felix has been battling with Suarez, Greizmann, Jota, C. Ron, Leao, Guedes whilst Jesus was battling with Foden, Sterling and KDB (as strikers) at city; Rodrygo, Neymar and Richarlison as strikers for Brazil. I’d say Jesus had the lesser battle.

Both Simeone and Pep are rigid and hard to please.

Let’s not pretend that Felix isn’t hugely talented. Hope he doesn’t go to United because him, Anthony and Rashford is a big problem

Felix is a bigger piece for Portugal than Jesus is for Brazil.

If Felix goes anywhere it will be Liverpool, who have already got Gakpo, and we’ll go for Mudryk.
If this happens it would be a good window for both clubs.

Thankfully, I think Liverpool are the last club who need a versatile forward player. They have Nunez, Firminho, Jota, Gakpo, Salah, Elliott and Diaz. They definitely don’t need Felix.

He’d be great there though as a new Firminho.

I fear your investment in Felix to Arsenal will end in disappointment for you
