I’m talking about an instant sell buy-back clause. Madrid had this is relation to Morata. Man City the same for Angelino of PSV. Barcelona with Gerard Delofeu. The player has pretty much no say in this case.

Afobe, Crowley, Bennacer, McGuane, Willock, Hayden. Not solely young players either with Fabianski, Szczesny, Wilshere, Ramsey, Gibbs and others.

There’s no such thing. The player still has to agree to be sold.

Who from the list has gone on to be sold for big money that we’ve missed out? The list also contains players we lost for free which is a different problem.

I can’t begin to describe how fucking angry I’d have been if we’d been stupid enough to buy back Afobe.

Thanks for the history lesson. Klopp has had great success but the transfer committee have also done incredibly well bringing the players in and selling them at great prices. You think Klopp is the one making those sells? Come on bruh.

Some sells you were referring to were made before Klopp came in. Liverpool finished 8th, 7th, 2nd and 6th before Klopp. I.e. those sells don’t mean anything.

Interesting choice of combination

I wouldn’t combine the two. I’m not an animal.

I have to say I’m not completely certain in relation to all those deals but this is Morata.

Gnabry is the standout deal of course but I’ve listed several of Liverpool’s sells. They’re names we know and they’re names of the stature of an Afobe or a Bennacer or a Willock. They are getting value. Arsenal are getting no value.

dear god no.

I was just using him as an example of how yet again Arsenal failed to get good value on a sale.

Only in this case, they definitely could have got good value if they let go at a certain point.

Most of the sells if not all have occurred during Klopp era. Not sure what difference that makes to your point though…

Arsenal fans have build this narrative that player movement is a huge part of the current success of Liverpool. Which is bullocks.

An employer can’t force re-employment upon you. He either agreed to those conditions on the way out the door (including what he and his agent would be paid etc) from Madrid or he agreed to be sold by Juve when Madrid came knocking. I reckon it’s the latter and he’s full of shit.

I mean with Liverpool most recent Coutinho sell they were able to sign Allison, Van Dijk and Fabinho. Klopp is incredible but it’s not only down to him. Do you think Klopp does this anywhere, no matter the setup?

Yes I campaigned heavily on OA for the club to get value from Joel. Somehow I went unheard. :santi:

Hindsight is something else man. Maybe in the future, we should include sell on clauses and buy back clauses into every young player sale.

If wed done this with Cazorla would it be the Santi Clause. Sorry guys its the heat. Im gone.

The best reference of OA 2019.

Coming to America is one of the GOAT comedies. The barber shop guys are the ultimate characters - the Joe Louis / Rocky Marciano bit makes me crap myself to this day.

“Fuck you, fuck you and fuck you. Who’s next?”

Sorry guys, my OCD is getting the better of me, the word is sales, (in terms of the plural noun rather than the act of selling).

And yes I would agree that a player worth £20m a year after leaving the club should never have been sold for such pittance…

Just like any transfer… but having set price clause still makes huge difference.
