@SRCJJ I completely agree. I just don’t get it, by slipping Partey there we end up compromising two positions. I didn’t want to sound like that guy but I still think back to last week’s Ollie Watkins goal and think ‘what if’.
Did OK against Fulham. Unfortunately that’s not enough and if Big Gabi is out I wouldn’t trust him against Real.
Had some shakey moments too though. I couldn’t believe that fuck-up to hand Traore the ball and Fulham a massive chance to equalise, thank fuck his end product is shit.
He’s not a bad player by any means. To be frank, Saliba has had his fair share of bozo moments the past 2 years too. Gabriel had his in the past too.
The worry is that the CL is unforgiving when it comes to such mistakes, especially when you Madrid.
I don’t think he makes it here long-term and I presume he probably knows that too. Should grab this opportunity and raise his stock ahead of the summer. While I don’t think he’s good enough to start here when everyone’s fit, there’s certainly other big clubs who could use him.

I do think generally with football fans if you’re a CB you get quite a bad deal. If your performance is anything less than flawless it gets highlighted.
He’s undoubtedly a big step down from Gabi but as far as our defenders and their backups come I am really not complaining at all.

I like that we haven’t waited for Kiwior to fuck up against Madrid before tearing into him for fucking up against Madrid.

WOuld like to point out that Kiwior’s long balls might be one of the key ways to score against Real Madrid.
The Kiwior criticism is always excessive. He doesn’t play often so it’s hardly unsurprising that when he does play he looks a little off the pace and susceptible to making errors.
When he does get a move in the summer he’ll do very very well wherever he ends up so long as he gets the run of games he needs.

It wouldn’t be ideal if Kiwior started games but for a young player he’s more than decent as CB cover and way better than what we had in previous seasons with Holding, Mavro and Mari.
Confident, faultless 90 today. Hopefully that’ll help him vs Real on Tuesday. Biggest game of his career.

Arteta showed today that it’ll be a Saliba-Kiwior pairing against Real. If he was going to change up the partnership, he would have trialed it today.
Only question for the back line is whether White or MLS will be in the side. I do think it’s possible he goes with Trossard instead of Merino up front.

At fault for their goal for me. Could of at least attempted to attack the long ball in the air but instead chose to not make an effort at all and let MLS deal with it on his own. Looked awful to me.

I don’t hate that idea at all…my only reservation is Kiwior hasn’t performed well at LB previously. Our defence is going to be key over the two legs though!
I think he did a pretty good job at the back-end of last season.
