Jack Grealish

Yeah your caution on him has grown some merit in the last half a dozen games tbf.

Grealish is so, so good. That whole Villa team played so much better when he was in the side. They’ve fallen away massively since he got injured.

£80m is a lot, and putting to one side whether we could even afford him (or him even wanting to come here lol), this would be a truly incredible signing of intent. He’s one of the best players in the league, was definitely in the conversation for player of the year pre-injury (and still might be anyway) and would be our best player as soon as he walks into the training ground.

To be frank, he’s too good to not be playing CL football next season. It would be remarkable if he chose us over one of the other big teams.

There is nothing wrong with that. Especially when it’s a 22-year old who is still very much in his developing stages and needs to develop a rapport with his teammates. If we can keep him he defenitely will be better next season.

That’s true because nearly everyone could see what a difference Odegaard made straight away but Grealish is a step above him.

Saying that, why not both?
What a statement of intent that would be.

I agree, there is nothing wrong with that, but if he is our marquee signing in this window, that would really be underwhelming.

Some of us have been preaching about that for a while but the club seems to be interested in one creative midfielder. :man_shrugging:

If you were to choose between Grealish or Sancho for £80m, who would you pick?

  • Jack Grealish
  • Jadon Sancho

Sancho is priced at 120m and I can’t see them budging. I think Grealish will be more than 80m too

We won’t get either

Per Fabrizio Romano, Sancho is desperate to join a PL club and Dortmund want to sell him too.
He said 85m euros should be enough to get him in his podcast yesterday.

This is the kind of purchase we’re you just pull out all the stops. Go for him now, whatever he costs, £80-£100m just pay it. Get Mikel on the phone so he can sell him whatever he’s sold everyone else and pay the money. Grealish is the kind of player that can lift an entire squad/team a whole level.

Not happening. Last year they rejected £95 million. In the past they sold Dembele for 105m Euros with 40m in add ons. They’ll get 120m, they know United can pay it.

Fabrizio is pretty reliable though.
If he’s saying he’s gonna cost that then he got that value from someone at BVB and/or Sancho’s circle.

Sancho’s market value has certainly dropped the last couple of months and he has been overshadowed by other starboys around the world. BVB just want to cash in now.

Only way I see him going for more is if he shines in the Euros. Although, I’m not sure he’ll start many games as things stand to do so.

United is the club that holds the keys of either of these two guys moving I think. Are they going to continue with Greenwood, Rashford and Pogba (hybride) as their wingers and sign a striker? Or is Greenwood going to be used as centre forward more often and do they need another winger… Is Pogba going to leave and leaves that room for Sancho/Grealish? Not like-for-like replacements obviously.

Chelsea need to strengthen their backline. But with those cunts you really never know.

Premier League bias here. Sancho is no worse than Grealish. Plus, he is 5 years younger, so we could sell him for more than we paid for him. Not that I believe he’d go for £80m, but hypothetically.

My concern is that Sancho could also follow the trajectory of Ousmane Dembele. I’d feel much more confident about Grealish being an instant success but with such a vast difference in age you would want to.

Sancho is incredibly confident but I still have question marks over how he’ll perform once he leaves BVB and the Bundi.

I think he’s speculating with the 85m. They might not ask the full 120m Euros but they know United can offer at least what they offered last summer.

Especially after what happened with Werner and Havertz.

They’re both great players but Grealish has proved himself in the PL.
Aston Villa were challenging for the CL places before Grealish was injured but since then, they are no better than mid table so he could be just as influential for us.

But since when have we signed a top quality player for a position we’re desperate in?
