Ah the Premier League proven line again.
I guess thatās why we signed Cedric and Willian. Premier League proven. What can go wrong?!

Well Cedric has turned out alright and Willian was a 32 year old and we handed him a fat 3 year contract, expected for him to sit on his arse and receive a pay check.

There are plenty of other examples though of PL proven players not cutting it at other clubs. And likewise there are examples of non PL proven players smashing the league. I just donāt think PL proven deserves as much merit as it seems to get.

I donāt know how you would call Cedric is āPL Provenāā¦ he is not even Arsenal proven.
Willian, you know his age, his mileage.
A PL Proven Willian is totally different from PL Proven Jack Grealish.
Also we were talking about 2 good young players, one played in PL and one is not.
Great example, Werner and Havertz.
Nothing about a retiree.

Hate? I wasnāt fond of the move in January given we were hoping he magically rediscovered his form but Iām actually a fan of his.
Iām concerned about his knee issues though.

Look at Fordana, Dias and the like letās not act like Sancho isnāt actually English.

They were free, Pepe cost 70m, Xhaka 40m, Mustafi 35m, Perez 18m, Lacazette 60m, even Partey hasnāt exactly taken the PL by storm.
The key terms is proven.
Apart from Xhaka, none of them were a proven entity.

Exactly but for the prices we paid they were proven in the leagues they were in.
I mean, there are many examples of players from outside coming in and taking the league by storm 
I know there are flops. Iām not saying there arenāt. Iām just saying PL proven isnāt as important as itās often made out to be.

It is not the one and only criteria, but it is a plus
Premiere League proven isnāt as important as people make it out to be but I donāt think it means absolutely nothing either. Itās really just a nice bonus in regard to any adaptation period when joining a new team.
