I remember that Midtjylland is where the Moneyball experiment started and he carried that over in the UK with Brentford.
I think once Brentford got into the PL then the Midtjylland project got severely overshadowed so he decided to cash in.

The guy is obviously stupid, and seemingly has bad advice too or at least he doesn’t listen to good advice.
He’s basically gone and guaranteed that people will be on him even more to perform from the get-go, which might be tough with a long layoff from playing competitively at that level.
I actually do agree with Sev that it’s good to have guys with personality but I think Toney’s personality specifically is just being a fucking dumbass.

I can see how betting on particular things like scoring etc… can affect how you play but betting on winning? I don’t see the downside… if anything, it’ll make you play harder. Good for the team right? I don’t see the downside to players betting on the team to win the game… not scoreline etc… just a straight up win.
This is the guy who man handled Saliba. He’s a handful. No way do we sign him this month. We need him now tbh to reignite our title challenge. In the summer there will be other options, who possibly offer better value for money.
