Fernando Torres and Carlos Tevez was also in the league at that time as well.
Lord Bendtner was our 4th choice striker.
@Cristo Getting nostalgic.
I know the term “underrated” gets thrown around a lot but I think he was really underrated. Kind of played third fiddle at United, got that big move to City but was quickly overshadowed by the Aguero transfer.
Definitely underrated but I wouldn’t say he was overshadowed. Joining City was a big deal (Instead of staying with Ferguson and United) and helped legitimised what was still (At that time) a unserious club. (and kind of showed pretty much anything is possible with money).
That falling out with Mancini where he refused to come on as a sub really hurt him and his reputation.
If there’s anything underrated about Tevez is his time at Juve.
I totally forgot about that.
Van Persie, Adebayor, Eduardo, Rooney, Tevez, Saha, Drogba, Anelka, Pizzaro, Shevchenko, Yakubu, Carew, Benjani Maruwari, Odemwingie, Kenwayne Jones, Crouch, Kanu, Bellamy…
That may be true only outside of Italy. Juve fans rate his high as fuck (among their all time greats) and he’s an absolute legend there, fully deservedly.
Carried City too before his relationship with Mancini broke. Was an ansolute beast.
It’s a bit strange you don’t have footballers with anything near that skillset nowadays…

Bro’s doing a tour like he dropped an album.
Again, I love him as a player but it would genuinely be hilarious if he fails to impress till the end of the season.
Game’s gone.
Imagine Rio got his ten month ban these days… “Rumours were he’d been smoking spliffs, but after ten months out of the game, Ferdinand is back and ready to smoke Premier League defenders”, cue training montage with a generic drill beat laid over it.
Embarrassing. Just shut up and get on with playing football.
He’s a bit full of himself. Most would get their head down and focus after facing the ban he did. Do your talking on the pitch.
Acting like he’s been sent to prison and finally released for being a man of the people like Mandela
So, so cringe
Loool, he’s not coming back from a lengthy injury or something by the way he’s acting. He broke the rules and served a ban for it.
Odd character and I wouldn’t agree with @sevchenko on this at all
He certainly has a personality, not sure I would call it a positive one though!
You’d think he had just been released from Shawshank
Hopefully the sisters didn’t get him.
‘I understand that gambling is a business,’ Toney says. 'The club makes money from it. So I can’t really have much of a say. It’s all a business. It makes people at the top money. I’m just an employee so I can’t really do much.
It must be awkward.
Matthew Alexander Benham is a British businessman who is the owner of English Premier League club Brentford FC. He is also the founder and owner of Smartodds, a statistical research company for professional gamblers, and owner of Matchbook betting exchange.
I thought Brentford was Danish. Why was i lied to @Cristo
He also owns a Danish club
In fact he owned the Danish club first and proved his moneyball strategy there first before trying to do it with Brentford.
