Ivan Toney

No real contrition from him

He’s played it like he’s coming back to save the day when in fact him not being there in the first place significantly weakened his team who are having a truly awful season

Very good player but his character is suspect

I dont think he has anything amazing about him but as you say his character i feel the same about. I dont want this guy anywhere near this club. I feel if we spent money on him he will either be a disruption or he wouldnt have learnt anything and he will likely end up being permabanned.

Just shows that he’s learned nothing during these 9 months.

If big spenders like Chelsea and Man U want Toney, it’ll push the price up but it’s more likely they’ll wait to the end of the season and go for an elite striker which means we can get him cheaper, although it’s still unlikely Arteta is really interested.

Toney leaves in the summer, not this January.

Starting to become confused about Toney…didn’t think he was the elite striker we needed but beginning to come round to the idea. 1.5 years on his contract…I do wonder if a late January bid, for a reasonable sum, would tempt them to sell…

They will sell, undoubtedly.

The question though is can anyone in the PL afford him right now with the these sustainability rules being enforced? I don’t think it’s a coincidence that last year nearly 300 million was spent in this window, and so far I think there’s been a single transfer to a PL club (Drăgușin to Spurs), and the rest have been loans.

I don’t think Brentford can afford to sell a goalscorer. Premier League surivival is worth more than what they would get for Toney.

Depends whether we can balance the fee somehow. If we are interested, the smart move would be to wait until the end of the window to make a move. Raya deal is £27m if we want to make that permanent. If we hold off from doing that this window, it may indicate that we are willing to sign a player. If they don’t sell, the price drops in the summer.

I’m hoping he turns in some dogshit performances in his first few games back so this rumour (and Brentford’s stupid fucking price tag) suffers a very public death.

What will end up happening though is he will score 4 penalties in 2 matches, and the world will be demanding we spend £80m on Toney otherwise ARTETA BASTARD OUT

He is literally giving interviews saying he wants to leave and play for a better club, and Brentford are over there giving the man a crown!

Brentford simping for a player who says they’re not good enough for him.

Seen lots of these the last couple of days from the media upon Toney’s return and it’s insane to me how slept-on Watkins is.
He’s got 19 G/As in the PL this season for a Villa side that for now is in the title race.

Meanwhile in 2008 Blackburn had Santa Cruz and Benny McCarthy…

Totenham had Berbatov, Keane, Bent, Defoe…

Now Isak and Toney (behind Haaland) are the best strikers in the league…
