Are we going to be more or less angry at the end of that four minutes?
The latter
Meh, still BS for me, they just dont sound as disorganised as previous. Still unacceptable that they cannot find camera angles for both out of play and offside (they think that if a player has 2 hands on the neck of Gabriel that the ball never touched Joelinton arm, to make point of contact the hip, at which point Gordon still looks offside).
Still unfathomable that they can suggest the push on Gabriel is as would be expected in the normal run of play.
Im 100% sure had we scored that goal it would have been disallowed by VAR (obviously will never know but ive seen the decisions VAR have given against us)
If I had said thisâŚ
.
Agreed though, VAR wouldâve disallowed it if we were in that position. But for football media darlings, Newcastle? They must be protected
Iâm not even gonna watch it. Iâll get angry again.
This made me laugh though

Webb didnât address the foul on Gabriel at all. I wonder why.
He mentioned something about subjective, some say foul others no foulâŚand then says Kai tackle is a red, give me a break, ive seen worse tackles than Kai not even get a yellow (imo it was a yellow), but really all this is, is PGMOL trying to protect themselves and validate shit decisions.
Thatâs the one I donât understand. The ball being out of play, the offside lines not being drawn, the handball, none of that really matters for the officials because that is clearly a foul. Itâs always a foul in the same way that Tomiyasu getting spun and grappling with an attacker but falling down isnât a foul.
Itâs funny. On Pointless today the final round was this question
Ljungberg was one of my answers. He was pointless. Michael Owen wasnât a pointless answer because in that final he scored 2 late goals to win it, and clearly people remmeber that. And I literally said to myself âonly time this millennium Michael Owen hasnât been pointlessâ
This just affirms my point.
They concluded early on that they couldnât rule the goal out for the ball being out of play due to the angles available, (fine), but they then spend a further ~3 minutes discussing it. Why?
They then decide within about 10 seconds that itâs not a foul on Gabriel, before spending another couple of minutes on inconclusive camera angles for offside and handball.
If youâve got clear evidence for the potential foul then why not spend more time considering that, rather than things youâre ultimately going to say ânot enough evidence to rule outâ anyway.
Just a complete mess in prioritisation
Educational
The fact that it took them two weeks to release this is oddly suspicious.
As of today Arteta hasnât been punished either which is very unlike them.
The fact they had to call their pals in the media to damage control this says a lot.
Whatever, weâve been here multiple times the past year. Shit is getting more scandalous every month, have no doubt someone will get fâed over again when we come back from the international break.
I hope it isnât us.
Haha I agree.
It sounded like the VAR guy wanted to award the goal so desperately that he was ruling out anything.
Whatâs funny for me also was how the ball was clearly out but he was telling them to bring the frame one step forward after the Newcastle player touches it to bring closer to the line. I mean what was that?? The frame shows the ball miles out but VAR wants the frame after the ball is brought a little it by the Newcastle player and argue about curvature of the ball hahaha.
Yeah that was weird.
Also, as pointed out in that tweet above, pretty bad that the main VAR guy needed to be told how offside works when the keeper is ahead of the ball/last defender.
How they come to the conclusion that the push in the back is not a foul is absolutely crazy. I will never understand that, and you just know that from now on this will always be called back for a foul.
Iâm also convinced that only reasonWebb says that Havartzâs challenge was a red is to âeven in outâ between the two teams.
Would have liked to hear the VAR audio for the Bruno violent conduct as well.

VAR Audio for the Bruno incident.
âA glancing blow from the sideâ
âNot used as a weaponâ
âItâs not nice, I donât think it is any more than a yellow mateâ
