Harry Kane

Won World Cup in 06

Won the Serie A and a few domestic titles too. No comparison to be had. He did that with his boyhood club. Totti had opportunities to leave and probably could have had an even greater legacy but Kane is 29 and trophy less .

Yeah, it’s a silly comparison. We’re not criticising Kane simply for staying at the same club for a long time.

Le Tissier is the obvious comparison

That’s their point really. If Kane is doing a disservice to his talents, didn’t Totti do the same? Totti had the same opportunity (joining Madrid). Gerrard was also brought up with his failed Chelsea move.

I just think Kane is England’s golden boy. People are just not having it that he’s criticized. Neutrals and overly passionate football fans seem to love him. I don’t get it. :man_shrugging:

I don’t think this is the case any more. He got a lot of criticism during the World Cup. And when he dives he is often picked up on it.

People are also pretty accepting now of him needing to move if he wants to win trophies.

Also on the ā€œneutralsā€ thing, they don’t exist. People I know can be split into two groups - Spurs supporters and people who hate Spurs

He’s out of contract in 2024.

If he doesn’t hit 260 PL goals by then, he’s coming to the carpet to win trophies and break Shearer’s record :+1:

That’s actually a fair offer for Kane in his current situation. But Spurs will definitely hold out for closer to / in excess of €100m

He doesn’t have the balls to make such a move. More likely he’ll sign a new contract at Spurs.

Do it 'arry, escape those shitters

Wow. Bayern wouldn’t bid unless Kane encouraged them

That won’t be enough but I think it means a saga this summer.

I’m surprised United isn’t involved and bidding. Maybe they enter soon.

For €70m I’d expect more clubs to join the race.

It will be rejected of course

A striker of Kane’s caliber is a must for Bayern, this will demonstrate where his head is at because surely they will bid higher when it inevitably gets rejected.

Kane should absolutely push for that move. Idiot if he doesn’t. Pretty much guaranteed a trophy there.

He and his even smaller brain brother might want to hold out for the top Premier League goalscorer trophy though.

He can do both. He could come back to the PL in his mid 30’s and still break that record.
