Have we signed this cunt yet or what?

We should be first choice tbh, they aren’t going to get better unless they’re happy being bench players.

They could be waiting to see what happens at Chelsea if Lukaku leaves. Or even Bayern if Lewa leaves.

Even if those options don’t fully materialize, the threat of it happening provides more leverage in negotiations with Arsenal.

If I were Jesus’ agent, there’s no way I would quickly sign a contract with Arsenal. I’d be happy to draw things out for a while, see how the market develops, see whether Arsenal gets desperate and bumps up their offer a little bit, etc. Arsenal clearly want Jesus and they’re not anywhere near the point where they would pull an offer and move on to their second choice, its still the first half of June.

Let him go to Chelsea and sit behind Havertz and Werner then. We’ve been in contact for months supposedly, either he’s interested or he’s not.

At our pace we need to start on the backup target now and we might have him by jan 31st.

That’s the part that confuses me. If we have been on the case since January of this year, either he’s on board or willing to play the field.

If he wants to play the field, the club should move on.

This is why I’m still very skeptical of Edu. He seems extremely slow to move. It’s fine to have a plan, but you have to also have contingencies.

#Working Remotely!

To be fair to Gabriel, he said before going on international duty with Brazil that after he came back he would sit down and decide on his move. Brazil were due to play at the weekend I think so they have either finished international games or they are just about to…sometimes you have to just finish what you are doing before you decide what to do in the future. There are likely a number of different offers for him, and he may want to consider all of them and I’m sure with lots of interest in the player, that the agent is going to try to get the best deal. We all just need to have some patience. If we are in this situation come mid-July, then we need to start to worry! Until then, chill and watch Love Island like @Calum !

The problem is we have no strikers and the longer that goes on the more players and agents know how desperate we are.

This lack of urgency in the transfer market has cost us before but we never seem to learn from our mistakes.

If Jesus is taking so long to make a decision then he clearly doesn’t see us as such an attractive proposition and is waiting to see if a better club make an offer.

So move on and get a player that does want to be here.

One day after this brother posts this classic early window naive Arsenal fan call for calm, Spurs go and sign a class midfielder. We’re a joke.

I admire the glass half full philosophy for most things in life but history shows us your optimism is completely misplaced and what’s really happening is we’re doing fuck all quality activity compared to our rivals again.

At the end of the window we’ll have the same people saying ā€œwell we can’t do anything about it now can we just support the teamā€. I will support the team but fuck me are we making it difficult for ourselves. We can’t keep up with this level of inaction and lack of proactivity.

We had all this time to line shit up for the likes of Jesus while we still need a massive amount of players and we’ve still not done anything? Didn’t do shit in January in prep for summer and what’s the fruits of that. Nothing. Might as well have spent in January then? We’ve literally just fucked up top four and haven’t responded meanwhile our rivals already ahead of us are doing the most.

Always behind the 8 ball and in our situation with a need of depth and quality in about 6-8 players just to challenge for top four and Europa League that simply isn’t good enough.

ā€œLeading the chase.ā€ what does that even mean?
What a load of nonsense.
We’ve been after him for ages so it’s obvious he doesn’t rate us that highly or he’d already be here.

yes yes of course he would and should come before the deal is set in stone just out of making sure a fan needs to know that he rates the club he is going to…that is just how it happens dont you know.

I have feeling your reaction would be different if Arsenal and Spurs switched places.

Starting to feel like a Spurs forum in here.

The comments about history are totally fair.

But, honestly, its June 14th. I don’t think the players are even due to report back for preseason for another 3-4 weeks and its nearly two months until the season starts.

There are two main routes to sign players early in the window. You’re either a massive club and it can’t really get better than your offer (Liverpool, City, Bayern, Real Madrid) or you’re not a club on that scale but you’re chasing players that have no real hope of playing for a club better than you (or, put another way, getting offered more money than you’re offering), which is basically all of Spurs’ signings.

Gabriel Jesus is a top player. I’m glad we’re after him. But when you chase players like that they will want to let the window play out a bit to see their options. I suspect Tielemans won’t have better options than us, but I bet he also wants to find out.

If neither of these guys are in the door in early July with pre-season about to start, its panic stations time and questions really need to be asked regarding what the fuck the club is doing. Right now I don’t think so.

I’m just biding my time, letting it play out. Waiting to unleash on Edu.

How the season ended still isn’t acceptable for me so my tolerance isn’t high.

yes but the window just opened last Friday tho

Let’s be honest with ourselves here. Only reason these transfers arent wrapped up, is that the players are probabaly waiting to find out if they can find a similar deal we are offering, but at a CL level club. If that doesnt come, then they’ll sign.

I just don’t think that’s realistic in this day and age. We apparently started flirting with Jesus in January. Hangjng around a couple of extra weeks in the hope some other team comes out of nowhere…sure there’s an element of some dominos falling but most clubs don’t do their planning like that I’d bet. Anyone interested has already made it known.
