Gabriel Jesus (9)

Then he signs ‘oh he only signed with us because he is a bum and no CL teams wanted him’

I agree completely. So u think we are the only club that’s inquired about him?

Unlikely. I think we are probably the only one who can pay the asking price and basically guarantee him first team football though.

Madrid and Tottenham both been linked. Think it’s entirely possible that they can offer a competitive pay package but maybe not want to get fleeced for 50m for a guy who’s out of contract in 12 months. Explanation could easily be Jesus pushing City to let him leave for CL football but Arsenal trying to push the sale through with a higher fee to the parent club.

We’re both just guessing anyways.

Both are reasonable scenarios. I do think we will end up with him tho. 50m for a dood deemed not good enough for the PL title winners, in the last year of his contract, is probably only a deal a club like Arsenal could pull off.

I believe this, there shouldn’t really be any hold up in signing Tielemans, imo

Ooof. I think he’s a good player but that is grim.

You saying these players aren’t sold on the Arteta project of competing at the pointy end of the CL and PL in the very near future ? :joy:

Isnt it crazy that Arteta not only sold players on this idea, but the fan base also got on board thinking that it was actually a possibility? Lmaoooo they still actually believe in this fraud even after he acted like he was a big time manager and has since been exposed as an absolute amateur shitter. You know wut they say tho, sometimes u gotta fake it to make it and Assteta has somehow stayed in a job, thanks to dumb shit Arsenal owenership who bought it hook line and sinker.

I think at this point the news is out on Arteta and Arsenal. Ur gonna be fighting from 7th to 5th maybe 4th depending on how terrible the other top teams are being run. You are gonna be in the EL but you will get paid at least 100k per week like Eddie. It’s not a bad landing spot for guys who are borderline CL players like Jesus/Tielemans.

Jesus has literally played CL football for 5 years under one of the greatest and most demanding managers of all time. On top of that he’s got a better than 1 in 2 record in the CL.

He’s not a “borderline” CL player lol

Crazy how we are the only club linked to him then if he’s such a CL baller.

Having said that there have been whispers of Scum and Madrid, where he would fit but not be a number one option.

Anyone is of course free to disagree with me and anyone else on here, and yes I may be an optimist, but one thing I am not is naive. I completely understand people getting agitated looking across to our rivals and seeing them sign players while there is an apparent inactivity in transfer business at Arsenal. The truth is that none of us know what is going on. It is all rumour and speculation, however I will say three things in defence of my view.

  1. Against the popular view, I have backed Arteta and Edu from the start and continue to do so. I am at least consistent in my view on this forum. I have consistently said over the last season that this summer is massive and that Arteta and Edu will need to repeat their success from last seasons transfer window. Some Arsenal fans were literally having kittens last summer with some of our signings…well I don’t think there are many Arsenal fans or pundits now that think our recruitment was poor last summer. If we don’t repeat that same success this summer, I will be the first to acknowledge this and call the club out.

  2. I have confidence that Arteta and Edu have identified the positions we need to strengthen and the players that we need to buy. Under Emery and Wenger (after Dein) I think our transfer business lacked structure and although we signed some good players, there were obvious positions that we needed to strengthen and we didn’t. Under Arteta and Edu we have addressed key positions with the squad and recruited the right type of player into these positions. I fully expect the same approach to be taken this summer.

  3. See picture below…I can see the positive change in the squad and the type of players we are seeking to recruit and I like it…I am going to continue to trust the process!

He’s surplus to requirements at City especially when they’ve signed a player such as Haaland.

Jesus is a good player my thoughts on the current city squad last few seasons was, it was complete squad elite striker aside. Jesus is a good player but not an elite one.

I don’t think we’ll be seeing Pep use his false 9 in anymore big European ties now they have Haaland.

Whispers. Just deal with it buddy, players are attracted to this club regardless of your boy Arsene.

Lmaooo deluded Arsenal fanatic #1 EU makes an appearance. He’s coming here for a big pay day just like Willian did. Makes no sense to come to an EL team for sporting reasons. Unless Arteta convinced him we’d be winning the CL at the end of the 2026 season and he bought it :joy::joy:

Just like when Sanchez and Ozil left the two biggest clubs in the world to join an Arsenal side that hadn’t won the league in 10 years and was getting spanked for fun in Europe I guess lol.

But let me guess when it came to those two it was sporting reasons and not the fact we offered a good financial package to them

What’s the point of having 20 teams in the league when you should only be playing for the top 4 teams?
