Gabriel Jesus (9)

We will be bringing in more than 2 players pretty much 100% sure of it. We have brought in Marquinos so if we just added those 2 we would be at 3 signings and I am sure that is just the beginning.

I think you’re right we’ll bring in more than two players but it’s highly unlikely they will be the sort of quality we need to get a CL place.

People who said we’d be spending 200m on two top strikers, a top CM, LB and other squad players, are going to be underwhelmed.

The board aren’t going to spend the sort of money they have before and Arteta isn’t an attractive option for top players so our supporters are going to have to lower their expectations from having an exciting window to barely adequate.

Our marquee signings are likely be Nketiah, Jesus and Tielemans, with some squad fillers, and a net spend of around 90m.

It’s strange that there are still supporters that trust Arteta, Edu and Josh Kroenke and think that we are on course for a top four place.

If net spend is 90 then we’ll be spending at least 120 and maybe as much as 150.

Jesús and Tielemans is only around 70 so it doesn’t really add up that we’d have net spend of 90 yet only buy two significant players.

literally just a few months ago we were willing to spend what £70-80m on one bloody player and here we are thinking we will spend £75m on 2 players but wont stretch for more.

The athletic is basically a mouthpiece for the club that reported those names, so it’s safe to say they’re the focus right now.

It’s interesting Raphinha wasn’t mentioned at all in the last update then a day later the telegraph had a vague “exclusive” about general interest but no talks

Lets what and see what credible transfer business happens. I’m honestly not expecting a major signing in the forward line beyond Jesus

Priority doesn’t mean they’re our “only” targets though.

We’ve seen other names such as Zinchenko, Colwill and Gakpo just to name a few being mentioned. They’re obviously not a priority but they’re still players the club is considering and naturally, there are probably more names we have no idea about.

We’ve seen plenty of examples recently of players popping up out of the blue and accelerating into an agreement and mo d in the span of a week.

How things change. Wenger would sell one player, then look for a signing and suddenly it’s August.

Haaland confirmed by City.

ANNOUNCE JESUS!

Absolutely no need for this to drag on now

I don’t understand why as a club Arsenal are so slow with their transfers.

Managment and coaches have been completely changed out a couple of times now and it’s the same fucking shit.

We’re dawdle so much man.

It’s frustrating because we know there’s been interest for months now. You can genuinely agree shit with a player and his agent months ago during the season and then just wrap up the small details when the window opens.

Nunez, Diaz were secured in a matter of days by Liverpool from when the interest first became public.

Spurs are 2 players deep already (maybe not huge signings but clearly better than existing options)

It must be something inherent within the club’s organisational culture so that even new hires are influenced by it.

They need to resolve it asap because the transfer market is more ruthless than ever.

Yeah with the winter World Cup I think it creates a genuine need to be quick in the window this summer.

I’d also say that we dawdled in January and it cost us the top 4 so we cannot afford to do that again. We were told January happened the way that it did because we couldn’t get our primary targets so it’s evident we know who it is we want so just wrap the fuckign deals up lol

Arteta is busy on beach in Marbella

I’m really not bothered by him being on holiday, he can just as easily take a phone call and say “yes I want Richarlison offer £50m” in his hotel room or on the beach as he can in his office at Colney.

There’s just no excuse for inaction, that’s all.

Neither am I. I don’t really care about transfers when love island is on lol.

I like to deactivate myself from arsenal in the summer then come back in August and look forward to the season starting

He’ll genuinely have next to nothing to do with the actual negotiations. He probably made it known to Edu, Vinai and the board that he was desperate for Jesus around Jan, hell maybe even before it. As you yourself said the manager has changed but our approach hasn’t. It makes me think that perhaps the Kroenke’s want to sign off on everything and there is a big gulf in communication between the technical directors, the board and the owners. I also think Vinai is a complete clown, it’s terrible to have such a vital role filled by someone who couldn’t be less of a football person. Dude doesn’t even seem like a good businessman either judging by some of our deals during his tenure.

Yeah that’s likely, didn’t Raul have to travel to the US to go to a family bbq where the Kroeber’s OK’ed the deal?

But is that why Tim Lewis is on the Board now?

We know Edu has issues handling multiple tasks at once which is why we fumbled the Saliba loan.

My guess is that the delay is Jesus and Tielemans drawing things out a bit to see whether anybody else comes into the picture.

The reality is that we’re not first choice for players like them. So if you’re going to target those players, they won’t commit to you quickly.
