Gabriel Jesus (9)

A sale to Brazil sounds good to me

Dang :joy::joy::joy:

shouldn’t be starting any games for us unless it’s EFL/FA against non-prem sides tbh.

How can a guy who could’ve been on a hat trick of assists in the first half struggle to make an impact?

About 3 weeks ago you thought the same about Martinelli, so I’ll take this as a positive.

Need more creativity behind him

Ode is out, how Arteta should set this up?
Nwaneri?

We look so ineffective when he plays compared to Havertz or Trossard. Sometimes you just lose your fastball and can’t get it back. It happens in other sports too. Maybe we’ll get a few big contributions or performances out of him going forward but he’s cooked. He’ll go next summer and we’ll have to reinvest in the forward line.

Jesus, thanks for the memories but the time has come for you to learn Arabic.

Thought his performance was half as bad as is being made out. Needs a run of games before he can truly be judged but with his injury issues since the WC he’s either had issues or not been fit.

I think we’ll get good performances out of him if he can stay fit and build up his match fitness.

If we win the league this season part of the reason why will be that somewhere along the line Jesus pops up with a crucial goal.

Can we improve? Absolutely. Is he useless? Absolutely not.

Isn’t that one of the main issues though

He’s been routinely playing catch up with fitness chasing form from 2022/2023

Gets to a point where that just isn’t viable anymore.

There is also a equivalent possibility that he misses a crucial chance to score a goal.

Thinking that way just isn’t my bag.

He was truly amazing in the pre world cup early months. He’s not been the same since.

That’s the part that’s so frustrating.

Kind of reminds me of Albert Belle. The O’s signed him ostensibly to add all this power to the lineup, he got hurt and was never really the guy they thought they were signing.

And if we’re thinking Jesus has taken over Eddie’s role as the garbage time striker or the weak opposition rotation option, then this wasn’t good enough.

I can’t believe we’re actually defending this guy’s performance today, just because we won the game.

He should’ve been hooked at half time.

I think most people in here have criticized him, not sure everyone went to the extreme you did but the reaction is overwhelmingly negative.

What else should be done? A name change to Gabriel Judas?
