I am because Lineker and co like to portray themselves as warriors against injustice but have no problem with Man City buying trophies every season, with their dodgy owners.
MOTD pundits constantly criticise referees, accusing them of being inconsistent, yet that’s what they’re like, with they’re virtue signalling over the Qatar WC but lack of criticism against the biggest cheating club in football.
I don’t think thats particularly accurate at all. He makes a few tweets and some podcasts. It’s not like he’s actively campaigning against anything. Is it?
They made a little speech at the start of the tournament, nearly a year ago, and people are still upset about it. Bizarre.
I think if city end up charged we’ll hear from them about it. I don’t really expect them to be too vocal with an active investigation going on.
The way fawn all over Man City, when they should be criticising them for not competing on a level playing field and ruining football by buying trophies.
They should be supporting every other challenger to the title rather than a fantasy football team bought as a plaything for dodgy owners who are ruining football because no other club can compete with them.
If Lineker and all his MOTD mates really want to virtue signal, and make football fairer, perhaps they should call out the Man City owners, like they did with Qatar in the last World Cup.
BBC football team (I don’t know if Lineker was there I can’t remember) was definitely fawning over Man City’s “setup” and “infrastructure” over their last FA Cup win.
Exactly. It’s just a shame that Lineker hasn’t noticed that the building of Man City’s excellent infrastructure, coincided with their money laundering owners ploughing billions into the club.
Seems like hyperbole to suggest there’s a major safety concern tbh. The US hosts hundreds if not thousands of massive sports events every year, many with and international dimensions.
They hosted in ‘94 without gun violence being a major issue as far as I know.
