It’s sadly also a fact, that what we in the western world consider important: democracy, equality and human rights, isn’t shared all over the world. Easier to “buy” votes from countries that welcome investments and promises more. Not surprised he didn’t have a contender for the post.

There’s no doubt that oil countries run football and authorities like FIFA are fully behind them, because of the money they’re ploughing into the game, as well as their personal bank accounts.
But annoyingly, we’ll see pundits like Lineker criticise them, while continuing to ignore how clubs like Man City have cheated their way to success, and reveal the blatant hypocrisy of pundits on programmes like MOTD.
