Who are Sweden’s best players at the moment?

We’re just about the second best team in our group… I reckon about the sixth best in the whole thing!

So this is Spain’s line up v Portugal this evening

I don’t think this is far off their best XI. Maybe I am just being biased because I see the England players play more regularly, but to me, that team is beatable and I would fancy England if we met them in the Euros.

Yeah there’s no way Spain should be considered favourites.

I have no idea who half of those players are.

Ooh the fingerer is in the Spain NT, i’m ready to see some thumbs up in this Euro.

I’ve just realised England are playing all their group games at Wembley. Big advantage that.

How have they worked out the venues for the tournament?

Hard to pick one really :joy: We are as usual strong as a collective, following a strict 442 diamond or 451 formation. We reverted back to this when Zlatan left the national team and we switched managers. We do however have some key players that must stay fit and be in form, especially since Ibrahimovics comeback was halted by a injury. He showed what a great player he still is (at 39 years) for those two games he played in April. Sad he’s missing it. We are the oldest team in the tournament btw lol.

These are the guys to watch out for and we depend upon:

Emil Forsberg (AM, Red Bull Leipzig) is our main playmaker, but he’s been inconsistent for the national team. He’s often placed at LM with a semi free role in attack. If he’s in the mood he’s a real baller.

Alexander Isak (FW, Real Sociadad) is only 21 and scored 17 goals in La Liga this year, securing them a surprising 5th place! And a EL spot next season. Its predicted he’s being picked up by a bigger club after the EC.

Victor Nilsson-Lindelƶf (CD, Man Utd). A very good and creative defender, when he doesn’t have to play next to Harry ā€œslow afā€ Maguire. He reads the game really well and is vital for our build up play.

Dejan Kulusevski (Winger, Juventus).

Jordan Larsson (FW, Spartak Moscow), son of Henrik Larsson. Scored 15 goals in 29 games for Spartak and had a impressive run late in the season. He’s in the same position as his father was in the WC 1994, not a starter but a natural finisher who just might get his breakthrough.

Albin Ekdal (DM, Sampdoria) is rather unknown and a late bloomer. Nothing spectacular and pretty much a sideways passer. He’s however crucial for keeping it tight in the middle.

Sebastian Larsson (CM, AIK (ex Arsenal youth)) who’s turned 36 now :see_no_evil_monkey: Former winger that nowadays is more of a tireless work horse. He can run all day.

Robin Olsen (GK, Everton/Roma) he chose between representing Sweden or Denmark. He’s actually a very good shot stopper. Not very commanding in the box though.

Kristoffer Olsson (CM, Krasnodar (also ex Arsenal youth)). Can be a strong creative force but rarely lasts 90 minutes and injury prone.

That’s it really haha. No big names. What’s very bad atm is that our 1st and 2nd choice LB’s are both injured, but both are selected in the squad lol. Our 3rd choice has played almost all games in the last two years (and will play the friendlies now too), but he probably won’t be selected in the final squad.
Oh and our captain Andreas Granqvist used to be very good. But he’s now 37 and played in the Swedish 2nd division (?!) last year :joy:

Same for Denmark. We’re playing all of our games at our national stadium. Definitely a nice advantage to have.

Doing pool predictions for this tourney is so stressful, any slight change in goal difference in a group somewhere and it alters which third placed teams are drawn with whom and can completely rearrange the knockout bracket. Man it’s frustrating :xhaka:

How is this fair for the other teams in the group though? What kind of fuckery is this.

Hate the fact that the Euro’s isn’t being held in one nation (or two). Takes away that tournament feeling big time.

Watching England at Wembley multiple times isn’t gonna feel the same unless the UK was hosting it. The atmosphere is what makes the tournament. The foreign settings and over the top random fans.

I have feeling this competition is going to feel like a bunch of friendly matches.

Yeah I really don’t understand the logic behind this thinking and it’s a shame it’s not in one country but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t buzzing about the fact that Denmark will be playing their group games on home ground with Danish fans screaming their heads off lol

Spain actually have a good manager though, something that can’t be said for most national teams.

I don’t see what difference it’s gonna make really. The stadiums will have home and away fans, there will be fan zones where able. The camera man will find some hot Dutch girls and Swedish blokes. Will be the exact same.
