Erling Haaland

If he is not, then he is not.

He has his strengths, but no one is perfect.

Some gifs to make @SRCJJ and other oldies happy

That and also just his movement in general, he needs to be dragging CB’s where they don’t want to go receiving the ball in different areas of the pitch more etc

It’s a bit too easy to smother him and in part its because he doesn’t deviate much in terms of positioning, he’s actually a very intelligent player so Pep is doing the team a disservice in deploying him in primarily one way. Pep improved both Aguero and Lewandowski outside of goal scoring, Haaland should be no different

I think Haaland is and can be better than some give credit for in terms of build up.

I was focusing on PL tbh.

Don’t worry I knew which Ronaldo you were on about. Taking advantage you weren’t specific on the name

Did he? I thought Aguero was more restricted in his game and focused to act more as a pure 9 during the days with Pep, compared to most of the career where usually acted as a second striker, was more involved in the build up, creating etc.

He did in my view anyway

He started to run more, contribute defensively and get more involved in the general play.

When he was just scoring Pep wasn’t satisfied and wanted more, back then he said,

It is not enough to receive the ball from his team-mates. He has to help us in the first pressure and run a lot and help us a lot with movement … You cannot be brilliant when you disappear when you [don’t] have the ball. It is impossible. Football is a connection between what you have with the ball and without the ball.

He did that and became a better player as a result, shame his body started breaking down and ultimately his condition then came into play. Amazing player

And that’s not even a caricature. That’s true to life.

The ugly fuck

Just 2 goals in PL in last 8 games. Stay humble

Haaland’s new profile pic on the PL site

How dare you insult Donkey. Haaland is no where near as cute.

As I said before, a very limited player

and this is why even if he scores 50+ EPL goals a season, I’ll never put him on the level of Salah, Henry et al.

This is just pure nerd speak lol. Guys a fucking animal in front of goal why does he need of these other traits lol

I’d rather my striker pumped 50 goals into the back of the next every season than learned how to play with his back to goal and drop deep lol

But you see how useless and ineffective he is in games like today surely?

He was a perfect signing for city who had all the chance creation in the world and needed the elite finisher to put them away. A lot of sides need more than that.

Because of the below

You need other traits when things are not going your way.

Haaland can’t dribble, has no flair. He’s big, fast and is usually great at positioning.

But if he doesn’t get given the ball on a platter, he’s very ineffective.

City were playing as if they had 10-men today.

Haaland has been poor by his own ludicrous standards but the coach isn’t exactly helping him or the team either

What Pep is doing is nonsensical Gundogan is finished at this level and yet keeps getting played like he is still 25 despite having no legs and isn’t like he dictates either

Bernardo on the wing has been a case of diminishing returns for years - he offers very little out there

Grealish out wide is just lame now, hugely lacking in threat. If he can’t be utilised deeper then he should be riding the bench.

He has two wingers who can create space and open things up for Haaland but didn’t start them, he’s far too cautious and risk adverse at the moment

I have the similar criticisms with him and Arteta in terms of not changing it up and giving the opponents a different look.
