Oi. Firstly, we haven’t “got rid”, he is just on loan. Secondly, it’s Bellerin, not Bellenderin. And thirdly, compared to DCL Bellerin is a bloody fashion icon!
I’d love to imagine this lad comes here and starts banging the goals in and we don’t have to talk about his fashionista ambitions every other week. I truly believe that no one would have cared much either way about Bellerin’s interests if he was working out on the pitch, which is a bit unfair granted.

Price is the worst factor here as he’s good but we’ll likely be taking a massive £70m gamble to find out if he can produce it on a regular basis here.
I don’t think we’re talking about that 25 goals in 30 games striker people crave here. But I’d love to see what he’d bring to the carpet in the red & white. Could mature into an absolute animal in the box.

I don’t think price is a huge deal unless they’re asking for 100m or something. If you accept Arteta is happy with Xhaka then our needs right now are probably a first choice centre forward, second choice centre forward (depending how the Auba/Laca/Eddie situations go) and second choice goalkeeper. So bearing in mind we absolutely have to act on the CF position this summer, even a significant fee on a player we might have to dump for a loss in a couple of years isn’t a killer catastrophe as long as we didn’t put him on the kind of salary to scare West Ham off.

Are they the same people who admire Xhaka’s work ethic or David Luiz’s locker room presence?

Tbf, the people who signed Xhaka and Luiz are long gone. Our track record since Arteta arrived is pretty good, perfect for the ones we spend big fees for.
Yeah, ngl, I still have a lot of reservations about Arteta’s judgment based purely on how he handled Xhaka. It’s unfair of me because things have generally been better.

He’d do well there because West Ham need a quality striker.
Considering they are challenging for a top four place they haven’t had a proper striker, that stays fit, for a couple of seasons.
I’d still have DCL here unless we can get Vlahovic for the same sort of money.
